How generally poor weather apps are at predicting the weather.

3 apps on my phone (Google weather, BBC weather and Apple weather) and they all say something different. It's currently raining outside, and yet the Google weather app says "partly cloudy" for the next hour, with just a 5% chance of rain. Apple also has "partly cloudy" but with a 40% chance of rain. The BBC is the best, listing "light rain showers" and 50% over the next hour.

Trying to organise a weekend for a friend to visit

Me - when can you come up?
Friend - I'm free all of July!
Me - great! How about the first weekend of July then?
Friend - I'm busy that weekend

Smokers that stink out trains and other public places.
It's bad enough the train is busy but to be stuck having that smokey rank as strawberry float stick offending your senses is just too much.

People who think doing the speed limit means they can sit in the outside lane not passing anybody.

strawberry float the strawberry float off dot com.

Lowest form of wit

I kinda get people saying Confused.com back when the website was popular about a decade ago, to apply this after any other adjective just makes you a complete fuckwit.

I wonder if it's because our weather is so changeable and often quite localised. I don't bother with the forecasts here, you just can't rely on them. When I'm abroard though the forecasts are nearly always right. Perhaps more 'stable' and predictable in some countries?

I still hear people say "hur hur, can i phone a friend?". :fp: That wasn't funny 15 years ago when Who Wants to Be a Millionaire was actually on, it's not suddenly funny now.

I think when people get to the age of 40 they basically find themselves unable to come up with new content.

Is a games forum full of antique memes really the best place to criticise people for making outdated cultural references?

"Simples" really grinds my gears. Because it's just adding a single letter to an existing phrase to make it sound like it's being pronounced in a retarded Russian meerkat's voice. Why won't it die? It's a strawberry floating insurance advert. It has no cultural value or humour element whatsoever.

Regularly shows up in almost every forum discussion result on Google (thankfully not this one) amongst grown adults.

Annoyed on someone elses behalf here but I feel the need to vent.

My sister was meant to be going to Florida with her bf and his family (mum, dad, sister and her bf) but seeing as they're currently going through a rough patch (on the verge of splitting up) she doesn't want to go and as such wants to cancel her bookings (hotel, flight etc). She's said that she's happy to pay the cancellation fees but her bf's family are saying they don't want to cancel and rebook and instead expect my sister to let another family member go in her place, leaving her over a grand out of pocket.

The thing is, they've already done the same thing to her bf's sisters partner after they split up (subsequently getting back together), they invited a cousin to go in his place yet he's still paying for it.

Its a bit weird as my sisters bf is genuinely a decent guy, its just his family that are twats.
