I'd love to take a runny gooseberry fool and smear it all over Harry Kane's gormless face, whilst slapping Southgate's face with a badminton racket, and the badminton racket has broken glass glued to it by the way,and I've been eating sweetcorn.

That only seems to be true if they’ve lost it. Otherwise it’s an absolute nightmare. The onus is still all on the seller to sort it out (the return postage no longer handled by eBay either). What makes it worse is that the postage is cheaper for me as a seller (UK rates to the UK based shipping centre) compared to the buyer who has to be refunded whatever the international service is to send it back to the U.K. Item worth + postage cost me £4. It cost the buyer however £6 to post back, plus the product. So thanks to eBay’s Global Shipping Centre I am -£4 and have a damaged item that they’ve strawberry floating damaged.

EBAY.

But it says right in their page that you aren't responsible for loss or damage once it reaches eBay and you are responsible for refunding postage paste the eBay place.

https://sellercentre.ebay.co.uk/private ... -programme

You aren't responsible for item loss or damage that occurs after the item reaches the UK Shipping Centre. Once an item has been forwarded by the UK Shipping Centre, you won't be responsible for refunding the buyer if an eBay Money Back Guarantee or PayPal Buyer Protection case is filed against you for one of the following reasons: A buyer claims an item isn't received or a package is damaged in transit.

Ha, not worth a toss. eBay are the kings of the loophole. The (mostly automated) systems in place in the Resolution Centre aren’t set up properly to deal with this gooseberry fool. It begins with the freezing of your PayPal funds and is a nightmare from there. The Help menu seems almost intentionally laid out to confuse as well. I can see why people are leaving eBay in droves, leaving just brands.

I’ve tried the Live Help but they barely understand English. May as well be bots.

I don't get why celebs use these live platforms to spend their time preaching to us, they are in their line of business to entertain us with their music, movies, TV dramas, sports etc, not to further whatever cause is considered trendy. If i want to hear a political viewpoint, i'll do so by watching a proper show on the subject.

If they genuinely care about an issue, why shouldn’t they?

There’s a weird trend at the moment where as soon as a celebrity speaks out on an issue, people rush to tell them to shut up and stick to what they know. Why can’t ex-footballer Linekar use Twitter to speak his opinion on refugees just because ex-builder Steve thinks all refugees are ISIS?

I generally only take offence when millionaire celebrities go on TV and tell me that I'm the one not doing enough for charity and should donate more money.

That’s fair enough, although it’s quite likely that the millionaire celebrity is donating lots of money themselves.

The fact that they live in a mansion and own several supercars means they can still afford to donate more than me.
I'll donate more when these celebrities live in a 3 or 4 bedroom house in the North of England and drive nothing more expensive than an Audi A4 because they're donating the rest of their money to charity.

The fact that the Windows onscreen keyboard now tries to predict what you're typing, I keep having to delete rogue words that it decides to 'helpfully' insert whenever I accidentally double click on a previously suggested word.

It keeps adding in 'luv' after I'd and you'll, I've never used that word in my life, JUST strawberry floating STOP IT!

Settings-->Devices-->Typing

There's an option there to turn it off.

The American postal service. I feel Royal Mail deserves some credit here, because when I send stuff to America it arrives within 5 days. In comparison I have ordered something from America and as it's tracked I've been following it. Holy gooseberry fool are they strawberry floating slow. 7 days and counting, and it's still in America. And this service even has the nerve to call themselves "priority". 'Ah, but America is vast' I hear you say. This parcel hasn't left New York!

Maybe it's going round the other way, from New York to LA and then across to Asia where it'll be deposited in the hand of a Mongolian nomad who will walk it across the great Eurasian steppes.

I once sent a CD to a friend in America, it was 3 weeks late and when he finally received it, the jiffy bag was ripped open, the disc was gone, and there was a note from the FBI saying that it had been recovered from a stash of stolen packages at JFK airport.

This thread. Since the mention of the annoying phrase "Happy Days" in here the other week I have now found myself falling back on this distressing pair of words almost at the drop of a hat. :x

It's like my mind has somehow anchored itself to the phrase and so anytime I come to the end of an exchange with someone at work where I might have previously said something normal such as:

"Okay thanks for your time Brian"

"That sounds good Terry, lets give it a try"

"Please stop that Stacey, it's not appropriate"

I now find myself blurting out "HAPPY DAYS!" and having to make a quick escape to hide my shame. :dread:

What's worse is that I even seem to be slipping further into this nadir of verbal expression - at the end of meeting at work this morning I was desperately searching for something to say other than "happy days" and ended up closing things with: "Okay, lets crack on with it!".

"Crack on"? Ugh. I mean it's practically a crime! :fp:

Is it bad to say that, then? I sometimes say it :shifty: .
