Can I throw "tourists who take photographs in obnoxious places" into the ring here? You don't need to do your family portrait on some narrow pavement, strawberry float off. Just take your shitty photos somewhere people aren't trying to walk.

Walking down the emergency spiral steps at Camden Town tube (on Saturdays the escalators are exit only) and some tourist stops on the staircase to take a photo of a strawberry floating pipe. I think shouting "IS THIS PRICK TAKING THE strawberry floating PISS?" showed considerable restraint on my part...

I hate cities for most of these reasons. People not paying attention to their surroundings, walking at the pace of a mollusk caught in slow motion. Cyclists on pavements doing near passes.

strawberry float cities.

Speaking of cyclists.

"THINK BIKE!"

It's hard not to.when you cut me up, smack in to my wing mirror, change lanes quickly and suddenly without any indication, ride in my blind spot etc.

Cyclists on the way in and out of central bristol were strawberry floating insane yesterday and this morning. Hardly any of them wearing helmets, weaving about all over the shop, pootling around in the middle of lanes, cutting across traffic on the other side of the road :dread:

I basically can't cycle and I once ploughed at about 2mph into some poor young woman in Kyoto, an incident that seemed to happen in slow motion as her friends ghasped and for some bizarre reason didn't simply step out of the way. It was probably because my brother lent me the bike with a giant skull on the front with literal torches for eyes. I still occasionally feel bad about it to this day.

When you see posts on facebook along the lines of "treat cyclists and motorcyclists as if they were a car, overtake with the same amount of distance you would a car! copy and paste if you agree only 5% will"

I've never seen a car, not even a very small one, try to squeeze between two lanes of traffic at rush hour to get to the front.

Cars will generally stop at red lights as well rather than just mounting the pavement and carrying on.

Reminds me of when I was in New Zealand and some Chinese tourists decided to take a picture of a lettuce in a supermarket to add to their photo collection :fp:

so you think bikes and motorbikes should just sit in traffic when its slow-moving?
genius.

They shouldn't undertake traffic or squeeze between cars where there's really not enough space to do so risk free, even if that means having to sit in traffic.

Well yes they should obey the road rules.

are you both not aware that filtering through stationary or slow moving traffic is completely legal? :?

There is a difference between over taking safely and being a monumental cock.

If traffic is sat and there is space cool go for it, if people have move in a bit because you are squeezing past when you shouldn't you are being a cock.

So many bikers of all kinds seem to think that it is the cars responsibility to look out for regardless of how much of a wanker they are being, bikes are vulnerable sure and you need to look out for them, but they also need to ensure they aren't riding like regards as well.

yeah i know that Errkal but Ad and Lagamorf seem to be complaining (what a surprise) about bikes and cycles filtering past them while theyre stuck in traffic.
sounds like barely suppressed jealousy to me.

No we're complaining about them filtering past when there's not enough room to safely do so. A foot of space is not enough room for a bike to safely pass.
And if the traffic is moving, however slowly, passing it on the left is just strawberry floating stupid since traffic might be turning up ahead.
