How do you deal with these people? They are grown ups and I don't think shouting at them can solve the problem. They never learn and continue to get drunk and go crazy.

The best way to deal with them is to give them a space cake so that they chill out.

lol

anyway it happened today. I was with my cousins/friends at their cousins house warming. My sister came along with her young daughter. I was driving us there and said to her that she is not to drink.
She agreed to only drinking 1-2 glasses of prosecco. But when we got there cos everyone was drinking she decided to go against our agreement and drank more than she could handle.
When I proceeded to leave early she wouldn't come with me and everyone else was like its fine she's fine fine. They must be blind to not see it was not normal behaviour.
In the end my sister went absolutely crazy and was screaming in the streets...luckily got her out the flat before she started to scream like mad.
She ended up puking in my car it was so gross.

I took my niece to my parents house and left her at hers to sober up.

Yeah absolutely disgusting behaviour. Thing is I don't know why no one else told her to stop drinking considering her 9 year old daughter was present. Maybe they were just completely oblivious to the state she could get to.

Worst thing is she will not learn from this and will continue.

A good mate of mine is like that. I have workmates over for drinks every month or so and one of them just can't handle his drink. He's a couple of year younger than me (I'm 33 for the record) but never really drank as a youth so has zero tolerance for alcohol. Any time he's at my house you can guarantee that he'll spill his third can. It's like clockwork as soon as he has that third can he always spills it. To make matters worse he starts hiccuping and sounds like he's gonna throw up... it's strawberry floating embarrassing.

Can you not just say mate take it easy with your first couple of cans cos you're a strawberry floating lightweight.

The sister's more difficult to deal with, call her an irresponsible, stupid lightweight who shouldn't drink so much around her kid. Will prob change strawberry float all but might make you feel better.

Yes your right it is difficult. I told her to stop drinking anymore at the house party but she was like GOD stop giving me a hard time about it and carried on.
Giving her a telling off later when she's sober might make me feel better but you're right she won't change.

You told another adult they can't do something?

The strawberry float.

Fair enough she shouldn't have got paralytic but unless she is an alcoholic with a problem you shouldn't be telling her what she can and can't do.

When you're their lift home you most certainly can tell them not to drink. The reason why is explained by what ended up happening.

Disagree with the first part, just because you're giving someone a lift doesn't mean you can tell them what to do.

You can suggest (operative word), though, that since she has a young daughter she should watch what she drinks.

N1FFF sounds like the kind of person who should not, under any circumstances, be given any little bit of power over anyone else.

Thanks for the advice but I don't have time to waste with being polite and using suggestive words with My 34yo sister who insists on acting like a scumbag.
I just told her she was not allowed to have more than 1-2 drinks and she went against that agreement. If she had said no from the start then I would have refused to drive us there and not gone myself.

^This. Also it's not another adult its his sister. Normal rules don't apply when dealing with siblings.

N1FFF should have rubbed her nose in it to help her learn that what she did was wrong like you do with a dog.

If you forbid another adult from doing something, the vast majority will do it out of spite, especially if there's booze involved. Example: an ex-girlfriend once told me not to drink any more in a club, so I went straight to the bar and ordered a quadruple gin and tonic. It was a disrespectful, dickish move, but it's human nature and I was drunk. In my mind I was a freedom fighter. I've also been dumped at my dad's to sober up after a monumental session one NYE.

I've bolded the bit above because I think it's the key difference: I was nineteen and acted like a bellend, but now I'm thirty two and I drink a lot more sensibly. If his sister is behaving that way with a child, I would say that she has a very unhealthy relationship with alcohol, and her daughter isn't that far away from being at an age where she can emulate that. I don't know the ins and outs of her life to tell anyone what to do, but if she's upset No1FFF like that then her alcohol use has affected her family, which is a pretty bad sign in my opinion.
