You've always got to pay close attention to items that are sold by Amazon, a third party seller, and a third party seller shipping by Amazon as well.

Just get prime because it is cheap and really good value then you don't need to worry about it.

Isn't it £80 a year or something equally ridiculous?

Yeah, but you get a decent amount of stuff for that if you use it as you get Video, Music, Kindle Library, Delivery, Amazon Disounts. etc.

Amazon discounts is the worst strawberry floating thing. They just artificially increase the price to push you to subscribe to their service, and then attempt to sell this as a legitimate benefit.

It's probably not bad value, but I was really unimpressed with the quality of the video and music service compared to Netflix and Google music, and I rarely ever shop from Amazon these days since they've become a glorified front for tons of unknown third party sellers, so it's not with £80 when I might use it once at Christmas.

Their Video thing was pretty shonky but it has improved I've found and there is some decent stuff on there now, I also use Fire TVs so that helps add value I think as it all integrated nicely.
There Photos system isn't bad either which you get unlimited photo and video storage with Prime at the native format which is good, I don't get to use that though as "Family Vault" doesn't seem to have come to the UK yet to allow collaborative albumns between family members but once that comes I'll probably move over to that from Google Photos

If you can get access to a student email address then you can get it free for 6 months and then half price for 4 years. :shifty:

I've noticed that while still competitive, Amazon's prices are no better than the competition, and you're not locking yourself in to their Prime delivery (which are more prone to using Yodel).

In the past you wouldn't even bother looking elsewhere because Amazon always had everyone else beat.

Gran Turismo Sport and Rise of the Tomb Raider being recent examples on the game front. Available for £8 - £10 cheaper elsewhere. Quidco cashback is rare on Amazon too.

I use it a lot for Amazon lockers. Absolute godsend.

By the way the thread title should include something like 'number 7 will make you gooseberry fool on someone's tits with laughter!!'

More BS business terminology. Maybe I'm "out of the loop" and missed this or maybe this is something new, but I've seen this a few times now. Rather than send information or share it, it has become "socialise". Just been on a call with a PM who will socialise the information later this week.

Good to know.

Also, die.

Lol, that doesn't even make sense. I know they probably mean distribute via social channels whether they are internal or external but that still isn't really the meaning of the word.

I overheard "ping it over" from a social media marketing agent the other day. Ok, why not just say email? How can the person you're speaking to anticipate the delivery method? Skype? Slack? Snapchat? strawberry floating Facebook messenger?

Thread title recognition and fame at least.

It annoys me that I'm off work all week but I can't stop thinking about it, worrying that something will have gone wrong etc. Also the dread of what sort of mess I'll come back to :fp:.

Ping used to be "I'll ping you", e.g. message you on Skype. I have seen it used as you've suggested too. I think we should make up some BS terms and see how long they take to get into general circulation.

I had always thought that “ping” could be used in the same context as “send”, usually in the context of sending something by email. So, you might say - and I have said - “Could you ping it over to me?”.

Have I been making people think “What a twat!” for all this time?*

* Please select from “Yes” or “You don’t need to say ping for people to think that” etc

I would use Pin to mean email, if I'm going ti IM or Skype or whatever I would say IM or message you.

I thought "ping it over" was a pretty common phrase? I know it didn't explain the medium, but there's only a certain number of channels you use to send someone data.

No don't judge yourselves guys. This is the first time I've been in a workplace for probably 6 months.

Was downloading stuff from Mega (without an account) and hit the download limit so was greeted with the usual "sign up for a free account to increase your limit" message and thought strawberry float it and set one up only to discover the free account has the exact same limit as no account does.

FFS!
