It's a chronic problem in this country, it's really pathetic in my view and I have legit brain problems and still overcome them. Walk into full carriage, accept, oh wait, it's not full, there's always some shifty eyed strawberry floater sitting with a bag on the inner seat just pretending like this isn't a busy train, everything's fine. strawberry float off you banana split. I brush past all the petrified jellies in that sardine tin and plant my arse right there. Deal with it, you knob. I'm not sure what's actually worse, the people hogging seats because they're oh so important or the brainless zombies packing out the doorways because they can't bear the idea of sitting next to another person. Basically, people are cretins and I wish this country had any semblance of community or brother/sisterhood left, and not only when there's a terrorist attack or influx of foreign people.

it is odd; do we have any bag-snowflakes or outer-seat tards on here? whats the motivation - let us know, for science.

I have no choice but to do this. My legs are too long to actually sit straight in most bus seats, I have to sit on a diagonal.

I'm just glad I don't get beachball of death on OSX every couple of seconds - I narrowed it down to the session savestate every 5 seconds or something ridiculous writing to some massive/corrupted file somewhere, switched that to every 5 minutes and it was good.

Got to say this has never been a problem for me since I made a MacBook my main machine (that was constantly getting raped by Firefox however) because you just hit one of 3 system shortcuts that lets you screehshot a window, selection of screen or entire screen and saves it as a full res PNG on the desktop. But if Firefox stores the bits as HTML that might be more useful for research purposes (I used to clip Clearly plugin to Evernote but that stopped rendering whole pages for some reason). Isn't there a similar clippy thing on Windows now? OneNote is useful just for that. There's also an app called CloudApp that's great but it's quite expensive.

I keep up the habit.. especially since the time I opened my iPad up on the commuter train from low power death sleep to be greeted by pounding ass coupled with Apple's wonderfully slow crippling iOS updates giving me about 10 seconds of epic cringing pain whilst whoever she was howled away until the volume etc buttons finally responded.

We have the same thing in this country and I feel the same way. I would also like to add to that, sometimes you get people who stop in the middle of the bus rather than going to the back so the front is insanely crowded and there is no one in the back all because people can't bring themselves to say "excuse me" and push their way past the person who is blocking the path.

I don't see a problem with sitting in the middle of the bus and not walking to the back, all the seats are valid and people should be able to sit where they like. Obviously if people are are standing and blocking access to available seats then that is a different situation.

If I'm traveling by bus or train then I will generally sit on the window seat, however if it's not busy I'll put my bag on the seat next to me - I don't see a problem with this. As soon as it starts to fill up then I'll move my bag as someone might need that seat, but until that point what's the harm?

My PC once froze when a dodgy porn popup was onscreen and I had a moment of panic as I frantically attempted a reset before my mum walked into the room, fortunately I was a bit more mobile back then and managed it but I live in fear of something like that happening now.

Yeah, taking a seat in the middle is fine, but just standing there and causing a block is annoying. It's especially annoying when you get an idiot who insists on wearing their knapsack rather than just holding it in their hand or putting it between their legs.

What you're saying is perfectly fine, I only consider it bad etiquette - I don't know if you've seen the state of some 8 carriage trains going from Southampton to Bognor Reigies for example, nightmare, worse than the tube - when there are literally 10-20 people standing in the carriage and there's 2 or 3 people who refuse to sit next to another person or have their feet up on the opposite seat etc, that is just plain inconsiderate. It's because people are commuting longer and longer distances just to get to work now (for me it was almost a 6hr roundtrip) and Southern network never keeps up, however Southern is an entirely different story, what a joke. The seats are REALLY packed in so it's not only awkward to say, "excuse me please move your lazy self preserving ass", it's physically difficult to squeeze past them and sit down. It's the last thing you want to deal with after being awake and working for 10+ hours.

Forced update files. I’ve got an hour or so spare, so I thought I’d go back and play some of the Campaign in COD WW2 again before I sell it. But I’ve been hit with a 7.127GB update. And I can’t play the game until it’s downloaded. It’s just bullshit.
