It's very rare that I find a TV show that I just absolutely adore. This is just the most perfect thing I've watching in ages. From the way it's shot (it just seems so warm and idyllic), to the locations, to the soundtrack, to the sheer British quirkiness of it but most of all for the characters. I love each and every one of them which is bizarre given I've only watched 8 30 minute episodes but my connection is stronger with them than some of my immediate family. I'd like to think in the future it will be looked back on with the same fondness as something like Fawlty Towers but maybe it's just not mainstream enough. And Toby Jones is utterly magnificent (though that goes without saying).

And both series are on Netflix.

Just wanted to agree with this. I watched every episode in one short burst and it was just really bloody lovely. I remember hearing about it ages ago but totally forgot about it until appeared on Netflix. Hopefully it'll get more attention at some point.

Got an unwanted, unsolicited call about life insurance. Left them talking for a minute until they hung up, then added the number to BT Call Protect.

Bliss  .

The house martins have come back to their nest at the front of our house. Its just above the window to this room so while I continue my thoroughly depressing job hunt in here, at least I can see them happily flying in and out of the nest

Joking aside, Happy Hour is an utterly magnificent song. You can see why at least two of the Housemartins went on to have such successful careers.

Just to add to Ad's ornithology, I have finally succeeding in attracting birds to our garden. It's tough in a new build: the garden is immature and birds tend to stay away.

I've spent a lot of time and money on bird-friendly plants, most of which still need to grow a lot before they are truly bird friendly.

We have had a few wood pigeons, magpies and starlings over the winter, but now the smaller birds are coming, too: over the past few weeks we've had a regular wren visiting, a pair of blackbirds and the other day we had a pair of goldfinches, too :toot:

It's shite, isn't it. (not the birds)

Never had so much rejection in my life.

Started looking a couple of weeks ago and was fending off the calls at first, then everything went dead. Even turned down a couple of not so good roles as I assumed I'd be swimming in them based on the initial reaction.

Thankfully I've got a month in Croatia for May so I can have a month off the depressing search.
