This came up in a recent conversation and I thought it'd be interesting to see what stupid things people were scared of when they mere little.

I'll get the ball rolling:

Up to the age of 4-5 I was terrified by the noise phones make when left off their 'base' for several minutes.
around the same age I was equally scared of the album "Oxygene" by Jean Michel Jarre and cried whenever my mum played it.

I now really like it.

Edit: fixed YT link.

The bull in Bullseye, and the Incredible Hulk in the 80's TV show. They were on one after another on a Sunday, needless to say I jumped behind the sofa for an hour.

I saw this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0162661/?ref_=ttmc_mc_tt when I was 9 (Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp, atleast I think it was this version) at my friends birthday party sleepover and it scared me so much that I didn't sleep properly for about 6 months. I was completely and utterly terrified by it and I don't even want to go back and rewatch it now although I'll realise it's a load of gooseberry fool and I shouldn'tve been scared.

I didn't sit and watch the end of it which I should've done and I left it at the bit the kid is under the floorboards. I still don't understand why I got so scared by it, it's probably really stupid. Also these two:

Goosebumps Night of the Living Dummy, or more specifically ventriloquist dummies that look like this.

The Demon Headmaster (although I couldn't stop watching it as I loved it)

and finally the stupidest is people in mascot style suits. I feel uncomfortable around them even now. There's just something daunting about people in these huge animal suits and I don't like being near them.

Catchphrase. For gooseberry fool like this. Putting random abstract things together along with weird unsettling music is hefty nightmare fuel for a young child.

There used to be a kids horror TV series on Sky called Are you afraid of the dark which was usually fairly tame but there was one episode about 'shadow people' which for some reason scared the gooseberry fool out of me.

The ridiculous thing is that I was about 13 at the time.

When I was a kid I was scared of shop mannequins - thankfully that was a long time before the first episode of the new Doctor Who/played Condemned :dread:
