Spayed at 10 weeks? My kitten is 10 months old and hasn't been done yet; she's only just started her season. Isn't that normal?

She hasn't had her jabs yet either due a misunderstanding with the person we bought her from. Going for an accelerated one next week.

I just wish she'd stop ripping the wallpaper.

At 10 month old a cat is already be sexually mature, if I were you I'd get her done as soon as possible.

If it's a female cat, not so bad, but male cats (Toms) really need to go roaming outside: they are very territorial and will spend long periods of time outside quite happily, even overnight, even if its raining. Female cats don't wander nearly so far, nor spend so much time outside, but they, too, really need access to outside. The single reason I don't have a cat is because I live in a top-floor flat with no access to gardens and I refuse to bring up a cat in such a situation. I grew up with three cats as a boy and I can tell you, the two Toms were outdoors all day, everyday, only coming in to sleep on my bed, smoke spliffs and watch kitty pr0n...*

*Okay, maybe a little porky pie there, but in essence true.

Get a decent cat then!

Ooh arrr, it be true.

When I was still living with my folks, we got a cat from a shelter that was only 9 months old, but had already had kittens the week before.

Is any other mammal such a slut from a young age?

Don't feed a cat Fruit Pastilles. I did it once and it ended up chewing on it for the whole day.

That works with cats aswell?

I thought it only worked with dogs.

No, on so many levels, no. Pushing any animals nose in it's own gooseberry fool is not the way to toilet train them. It's cruel, animals don't think like us so don't associate gooseberry fool + nose = litter tray. what it does do is frighten them, make them more likely to be afraid of you and less likely to trust you.

There are plenty of ways to toilet train animals, this really isn't one of them.

Please do not post this in the "No Context" thread

cat nip is a great thing to help them relax. Lasts up to 20 minutes, happiest your cat will ever be.

you can treat your kitty on the cheap by giving them crisps (just a few small ones mind), mine goes nuts for them, especially salty ones and meat flavoured ones too.

Love my Cat.

Most fun I had recently was when I had the house to myself for a few days and we caught a mouse. Locked both of them in the conservatory till only one emerged victorious. T'was awesome.

We litter trained our cats when they were kittens by putting them in the litter tray after meals, and grabbing their front paws and scratching them gently through the litter stuff. Then they just carried on on their own and crapped

Well she has grown more confident now she has her favorite spots around the flat.

Either sat on a chair under the table on a blanket, in her carry case I first brought her home in or a cardboard box we had that she likes to hide in
