There's no point in trying to apply logic to either side of the argument. Each of us uses what we are accustomed to and there's no reason for anyone to change. It really is as pointless a discussion as "which shoe do you put on first".

The most painful thing is that he will not let anyone have the last word and will continue to argue his point, as if it carries any kind of weight :fp:

Quite how you think you can say that after this bit of complete nonsense...

Think of the mouse/camera as a football on a treadmill. When the treadmill moves foward, it in turn moves the ball (read: camera) in reverse.

Had a thought about this.

People who don't invert are on some level thinking about the games in 2 dimensions.

People who invert are fully invested in the games being in 3D.

I pull back on the stick to pitch up. That's what feels natural to me.

I love that H is having the exact same argument over at Rllmuk and getting the same responses

Not true at all, over there most people seem to except that inverting is the right way to go about moving a 3D camera.

I like to push forward/up to look up and down/back to look down. Probably makes me mad with current thinking, but what the hell.

Just means you aren't thinking 3 dimensionally.

Brooker is correct. It's all about how you use your neck muscles. Inverted controls are "correct" in FPS games. 8-)

This used to be a great debate between my school chums when we used to have our "strawberry floated Up Thursdays".

We were split right down the middle between invert/no invert. I was in the invert gang as there's no denying that playing without invert is wrong. However, the other side of the group had their catchy phrase "invert is for noobs", which despite being incorrect, makes me smile.

INVERT FTW

How can something as simple as this (literally, just choosing one and finding it works best, nothing more to it) become a game of oneupsmanship?
