This could be solved if they added a no groups option but if you look at the games forum every time someone suggests it everyone goes mad and starts saying the DZ is playing as intended and that any suggestion to change it is simply because people aren't good enough or are crybabies and people should just Get good.

Oh well, no DZ for me then it seems as the way it is now just really isn't my cup of tea.

I am however enjoying the HVT and plan to group up tonight to do the two hardest weekly targets and we'll see what we get.

Is it worth me diving in to this at this late stage? I'd probably only play in fairly short bursts anyway as I don't get more than 30-45 minute slots.

I don't think so as the game pretty much requires you to be part of a team at the end game.
The story from level 1 to 30 is pretty good and I think you'd enjoy it but after that it's a grindfest and the jump in difficulty between the hard missions and the challenge missions is bloody stupid and can't be done solo by anyone without amazing equipment which you just won't get without a team.

If you can rent this then by all means give it a try as you may enjoy it but I don't think it would be worth you bothering with if you only have such short slots as even if you do get ultra lucky and get drops good enough to go from hard to challenge mode right away they take way longer than 45 minutes to complete.

Cheers. How much time would it take to get from 1 to 30?

Given you only have such limited slots I'd say each slot may give you time for 2 or 3 story missions and there are 18 of those and then you need to do some smaller side missions to finish building a main base of operations so tack on maybe 10 of those which will take 2 or 3 slots so between 7 and 10 time slots should see you at the start of the endgame I'd say.
That's without doing any missions twice though which some of the later missions may be tough solo so you may need to do them multiple times and the last few missions are considerably bigger so will take a whole slot by themselves.

The end game pretty much needs a lot of time to get decent gear but the changes they've made has at least made progress outside the Dark Zone possible so maybe as a new player you may get lucky.

Ok, I've seen the game for around £30 and I've got some Amazon credit so I'm going to give it a go. I put in around 15-20 hours on Destiny just soloing around and had fun with it so I'm hoping this also scratches an itch. Plus, a couple of my friends have been playing (one is at lvl 30 but the other is only around 6) so I might have some options with regards multiplayer. The length of the story missions sounds good too as I like to feel I've accomplished something after playing so if the missions were long then I'd be wasting my time.

If you have friends and they can join you at level 30 this is definitely worth a shot as the game is much better as a team.

There's also tons of collectable stuff like missing agents and intel to collect if you like that sort of thing so there's stuff you can do even if you only have limited time.

I've been mostly enjoying it, playing in shortish bursts (although done a few 90 minute sessions). I've been playing mainly solo other than with randoms in the story missions. Trips to DZ have been varied, going on your own will invariably lead to death, but yesterday I was in there with 3 or 4 randoms and it was great, managed to bring a load of goodies out and whilst not every encounter was a walk in the park, we defeated everyone we came across. However, that was not the norm, usually I don't come across other players in the DZ (admittedly only ventured in about 3 times). Bit worried about Peter's comment on finishing the game as I don't have friends to play with. [emoji20]

I've been playing this, it's quite good, but very repetitive. I'm up to rank 16 and maybe half way through the story missions, no real issues so far apart from missions in 'hard' areas where I'm under ranked.

I'd be happy to team up campaign or DZ. been in the DZ a few times, alone mainly and die a lot. Bumped into a guy who I teamed up with for an encounter. He nicked all the blue gear while I was down. As we extracted I went rogue and nicked all the gear, managed to extract 2 more times before I got smashed when loads of people turned up at the extraction site to nick my load.

I'm now level 27 but would team up with you Bertie if we can get on at the same time. Was a bit of a bitch today as I was playing with 2 randoms, waiting for the extraction when 3 higher level rogues (clearly in a team), suddenly attacked us and killed me. I came back, got killed again but then I and the other two I were with came across another 3 guys and between us we killed the rogues. Sweet justice.

How do you use the special ammo you come across, never managed to use it yet on the few attempts I've had.

Hold down Right on the dpad (doesn't matter which console you are playing) it should show your to consumables.

I would recommend drinking the water if you need a little more dps against a NCP.
Canned food is to help with health regen but you have to eat it before you use a medkit.
Energy bar removes all status effects.
Can of pop will reduce the cool down on skills for 30 seconds.

Incendiary and explosive rounds are there as well. Incendiary is the better one unless you are sniping someone in the DZ.

Keen to join a team. Watching a lot of the euros at the minute so I jump on for a mission or 2.

How do you get brown weapons and green armour?
My weapons are only at about 28,000.

During week days I'm normally on around 6.30pm - 8pm if anyone is around then.

When you say Brown weapons do you mean Gold or the skins?

The Green (kind of a mint green) armour you get as drops from HVT daily and weekly targets (try doing the weekly with a group), incursions, DZ mobs, from DZ supply drops, green cashes and a chance in challenging missions.

I feel sorry for the PS4 peeps as they are getting screwed in the underground update. Xbox & PC will get it on 28th June and PS4 on the 2nd August.

I'm actually quite happy with that as hopefully they will be able to find all the bugs before we get the update.

Good thinking batman.

I do like the sound of some of the stuff in the update. It would seem to be some decent PVE endgame content. I like the idea of the modifiers while in the underground. Also the deep you go the better the rewards. There will be a separate ranking for the underground dungeon (best description I have seen for it).

I am kind of sad that Underground is the first pay for DLC, it would have been nice if Ubi said have it for free.

Ok. As I basically have no idea what you are talking about and don't play with other people I'll just view these items as "things I won't be getting".
