I have decided to roll a new character to see how it changes things when you get to level 30.

If you have the PC version as well as the season pass you can download the PTS (Player Test Server) which will have the 1.5 update on it which they are testing.

From what I have seen I like the Survival DLC.

Had a go on this again the other night. Still not sure I can be arsed to go back to it full-time.

Might be different playing in a party with others, but Lone Ranger mode still feels a bit empty.
If they had made these changes back in march however...

Oh....survival mode. How original, new and different. Guess I won't bother coming back after all.

I'm a big Survival game mode fan. The thing that always bothered me is that a big AAA franchise has never really tried it. PVP in the main game is a nightmare because you just get owned by gangs roaming around and can lead to just giving up on doing it.

At least in this mode a few things are in play, first off, all players will start off with nothing, secondly, everyone is dying so you've only 2hrs to live and that's if you find pills to stave off the disease. Thirdly, every encounter even with AI's will be huge cos when you die, you die. Encounters with other real people will be borderline terrifying. I can't wait.

I thought that then I watched the second video. Seems like fun.

Been playing this a lot again recently. Changes are good.

If we can get the old team back together I'm happy to give this a shot again.

Yeah I'm more than happy to help you all out as I've done everything now. I'm just waiting for Survival DLC to release.

Survival is a lot of fun, it's really good if you can get a group together. It also pays to remember the lay ouit of areas such as shorcuts because I can guarantee you will need one when you are looking for a fire to warm yourselves up.

A tip for those playing look for downed players because you will be able to scoop up all their gear and can help with reducing the time it takes to get new clothing.

So 1.5 will be out for PC and xbox on the 22nd November and PS4 a couple of days after. Survival dlc will be out on the same day for pc and xbox but 30 days after on PS4.

Played Survival with a mate of mine and it's BRILLIANT. It's literally the best thing about this game by far. The Tension of first getting clothes warm enough to not freeze, then running around apartments and offices looking for guns, medicine, water and food. Add in that 23 other players are doing the same thing and its' all rather spectacular. It's as close as the premise of the game has got to. Best thing is, you can have a team of up to 4 and you all enter the game together and can share loot.

Interest restored.

Might have to reinstall this in time for the PS4 release.

There is some instability with the servers at the moment. seems someone didn't swap out the dead the hamsters at downtime.

It looks awesome. I uninstalled the other week because I needed HDD space but I'll definitely be installing it again when the DLC is out on PS4.

So I've been spending time with this game lately, after quite some time away. My character is Level 17. Last night I was wandering around an area clearly marked 10-13 Level enemies but I was encountering level 16 enemies (this is while my character was still Level 16 himself). Hold up. How come? I was getting shot to hell. I don't remember the game being this punishing in SP free roam - have they stealth patched the overall difficulty of NPCs while I was away? And how could Level 16 NPCs spawn into an area well above the designated levels?

It's annoying - trying to play this SP free roam is now one incredible slog. I was reduced to travelling about the map with an AI squad last night, fer chrissakes.

BTW, I still think it's an incredible game - probably my favourite open world game to date if I'm honest - but what did they do to my 'fairly-manageable-but-sometimes-challenging' game..? :?

Not sure tbh Cal, it should be doing the relevant level ncp's for the area until you hit level 30 and start upping the world level.

I'm still enjoying it. It took me all of about an hour to get fully 256 running the roaming bosses (bullet King ect) they drop stuff like it is going out of fashion. I am enjoying tier 5 as well, NCP's seem to be a little tougher but manageable.

Do shotgunners still pummel you from all the way across the map and is the grenade spams still as stupid?
