Let us know how this goes as I bought the gold edition of this (ps4) but never played any of the DLC as the GRCade group disbanded due to the game being punishingly hard.

I loved the idea of the game and some of the skills (mainly the healing skills) suited me perfectly but the enemies were just so bullet spongy and their accuracy and grenade spam was just stupid. I remember one night we spent well over 2 hours just in a single room on one of the weekly challenge modes because the enemies just wouldn't die and I think that was the final nail in the coffin.

Got the gold edition but never played it.

Gaming hours are usually Thursday nights (but not tonight - footy) and Sat & Sun afternoons.

Does that have the season pass in?

To play survival its DLC.

Also, you'll have to play a couple of hours before it unlocks AND to play pretty much the entire game to any extent 80% of it is behind level 30, which would take you about 10hrs to get too, im happy to help though.

BIDO - you don't happen to have Battlefield 1 at all? :shifty:

I think so.

I'll start putting some time into it when I can so I'm ready.

I think it's the Gold version I have and it comes with the Season Pass

I'm not sure gear matters much because in Survival you start with nothing. I don't think you even have any skills? I can't remember now.

I don't have Battlefield no, haven't played Battlefield since the 3rd one. I might get Battlefront this year though, but probably not :slol:

I put a few hours into this at the weekend and have enjoyed it up to now.

Unlocked the Survival option but I'm only at about level 5.

The game up to level 30 is great it's the endgame that used to let it down.
The grind was outrageous and the bullet sponginess and grenade spam was crushing. If they've done something to fix that then the game may well be one you enjoy for months as the concept is fantastic.
My main tip is to stay away from the PVP dark zone unless you enjoy being completely dominated by people who's only objective is to make other players life miserable.

The reason I keep popping up in this topic is the game has potential and can be fixed with a few fairly obvious changes (less bullet spongy enemies and grenade spam and massively tone down the benefits of rolls of items which make the difference between players with good versions of items pretty much gods and the people who haven't had time to farm for weeks on end for god roll versions feel vastly underpowered) and stop worrying about the ultra hardcore who seemingly want everyone to have to go through the hell of the grind to "Get gud!" because they did.

The PvP stuff in the Dark Zone did seem pretty gooseberry fool (that kind of thing with a controller input is no fun at all) but the DLC stuff has been quite fun (the team v team battlefield type mode, and the team co-op raiding mode).

Survival is pretty awful though, I've only tried by myself so far so maybe going in as a group will be easier. I might stream it when the GRcade group does make an attempt

Survival doesnt care what level you are as everyone starts from scratch. I'm game for some Survival at the weekend, my big fear is if anyone is still playing it to be honest.

Yeh it took a while to get a game a few months ago when I tried :dread: although I think that might be because the division servers are gooseberry fool. I think Survival was recently on sale or free right? So there should be new blood trying to play it.

Has anyone been trying out the 1.8 PTS? Balance fixes, new weapons and a new area have been added.

I just realised I don't think I've ever felt so strongly negative about a game as I do with this. I think it was the awesome amount of expectation and hype I had for it and the journey I had into outright hatred as they made it harder and harder and the grind more and more depressing.

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't go back to this game even if the developers themselves popped round to my house and gave a 3 hour lecture about just how sorry they are for screwing this up.

I’m waiting for the X1X patch before returning. Battle Royale would be great in this.

I keep wishing they'd implemented the drone they had in the pre-release trailers.
The drone was in Ghost Recon and they could just have put that in with the option to make it controlled by a fifth player who could spot enemies and maybe use a few skills. I thought that was a really cool idea and I looked forward to being a drone pilot.

1.8 dropped today and apparently it's... good
Tempted to reinstall and give it a shot. If only just for the new section of the map.

https://tomclancy-thedivision.ubisoft.c ... 18-year-2/

Update 1.8 is now live across PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Update your client and join us in the many new activities and features added to The Division, for free:

Resistance
Enemy factions have combined forces, and they are coming for Division Agents in Resistance. As a new PVE mode, waves of factions are working together to cut down SHD once and for all. Players can build fortifications, unlock sealed doorways, and open Classified crates in any of our three explorable arenas.

Skirmish
Skirmish is the new 4v4 TDM PVP mode. Designed with a less running/more gunning mindset, players will find shorter games, smaller maps, and closer engagements in one package. Playing Skirmish will also level up Last Stand Ranking, now renamed PVP Ranking for 1.8.

West Side Pier
West Side Pier acts as a map expansion, pushing players into the left-hand side of Manhattan. Players can farm Division Tech here, as well as accept Alerts/Assignment missions. A new social hub—Camp Clinton—will provide Agents everything they need to stock up in the new zone.

Revamped Underground
1.8’s Underground is better than ever before. Players will find new Directives that add a sense of risk vs. reward to missions. Checkpoints have also been introduced, and players are definitely going to need them. For the first time in The Division, Hunters will appear as a random encounter in the Underground and have a chance to drop Classified Gear.

Gear Optimization
Players have the opportunity to maximize the rolls on their weapons and gear using Division Tech at the Optimization Station. This new system, combined with a new ‘power’ level assigned to gear, will allow players to push farther into PVE content.

Rogue 2.0
Introduced in 1.8 is a voluntary Rogue Toggle that will change the pace of the Dark Zone. In order to go Rogue, Agents will have to hold down a key/button to flag themselves, and then proceed with their PVP business. Rewards on both sides of PVP Manhunts have also been increased.

Exotic Weapons
Four new exotic weapons are available in 1.8. The first is the ‘Big Alejandro’—a powerful LMG capable of mowing down targets with a high RPM when firing from cover. ‘The House’ SMG keeps Agents on their toes as one fluctuating half of its magazine grants bonus damage. The ‘Devil’ and ‘Heel’ marksman rifles are deigned to be used as a pair. When both are equipped, Agents get the benefits of both simultaneously

I'd been toying with reinstalling this the other day actually.

Might see if I can find the season pass cheap and go back to it.

Not free permanently just from 5th to 10th.

Never bothered with this at all but noticed it's £12 on PC (uPlay) is it an online only game or can you play alone in sp? Is there plenty of content in the base game?

There's a single player campaign and plenty of single player activities to do. The dead zone multiplayer stuff is really fun though, I'd definitely give it a go for £12.

Gold Deluxe (Game + Season Pass) is £10, worth the extra?
