Blummin' gays. They want all the rights but none of the responsibilities.

Half your age plus seven; that's the rule. Now stop bummin the schoolies or we'll have our marriages back.

I actually read that first line as 'Bummin gays' :fp:

...or did you mean 'bummin gays' not 'blooming gays'?

I guess that's only really a problem if you're not comfortable with being single. I've tended towards being single in my life much more than I have being in any kind of long term relationship - I think because I just enjoy my own company. Or perhaps I'm just emotionally immature. I really don't know.

Of course, the other extreme is being a serial 'one night stand' type and I have to admit for a while back in the early-mid 90's, while I was living in Central London, I was pretty badly behaved in that respect. I just got locked in that self-defeating merry-go-round of clubbing it every weekend with the express purpose of finding a 'target' to take home/go home with for the night. Sad to say, I was usually pretty shallow about the whole experience.

You just can't keep going at one hundred miles an hour forever. Sooner or later time and other thieves will catch up with you.

Me too. In fact, it was the only reason I ever went clubbing. I was never into the dancing side of it. I also went through a phase of going to a sauna every weekend. I'm hugely ashamed of some of the things I got up to in there. And some of the sights I saw will stay with me for ever.

 God, yes. Not all bad, unless you include the toilets in Heaven on a busy Saturday night (don't know what they're like now, but back then they were an absolute no-go zone for anyone of a 'delicate' constitution) and sometimes funny. The funniest thing I ever saw was two scary-looking butch dykes suddenly erupt into a spontaneous fight in the middle of the dance floor in a lesbian club somewhere in Seven Sisters (I think it might have been called The Angel, I'm not sure). I was dumbfounded; it was hypnotic to watch as they literally tore into each other.

But there were other, darker times; one night nearly getting bottled by a group of skinheads whilst queuing up to get into a gay club with my sister (can't remember where now), and a few years later watching my sister's partner's brother (same age as me and also gay) slowly fade away as HIV finally took him. Absolutely terrible.

Good times, bad times. Great when you're young and full of beans, but I wish I'd known then what I know now, etc...

Heartbreaking. That must have made you feel guilty about your promiscuous behaviour. Why him and not you, etc. I regret some of the things I've done but I've been very lucky.

This thread has become super depressing, can't we all just be happy about Daley Thompson coming out?

Are any of the bookies doing a book on whether he's Arthur or Martha?

My tenner is definitely on him being the wheelbarrow.

When you're 50, everybody's younger. In 'gay years' I'm now nearing my 70's. :( Anyway, I'm 'retired' now. My clubbing days (wild as they were) are now thankfully behind me. There's a lot to be said for the quiet life. It wasn't always younger men. When I was 18 I was seeing a guy in his mid 40's for a while. Lovely fella. One of the kindest, gentlest men I've ever known.

I am 33 and feel old in most nightclubs now.

Doesn't stop me perving though. :datass:

strawberry float me I'm not surprised, I feel old in some nightclubs now and I'm only 22.

I swear some 18 year olds look about 14 nowadays.

Whatever, the point remains that homosexuality is not natural , if it was they would have children, and their penises would connect like vagina connects to penis.

Y'see?

If homosexuality isn't natural, then heterosexual people should stop giving birth to gay people

Slightly related, but I watched How To Survive A Plague last night and it's still spinning around my brain. Heartbreaking and painful but riveting and enlightening in equal measure - to allow millions to die a prolonged, painful and humiliating death because state-sponsored bigots were allowed to drag their heels and lie, lie and lie some more, is about as depressing as it comes.

Edit: Added linky.
