Probably for the best. The temptation to over-use it would be great.

Yeah I'm getting quite excited to play these now. The temptation to jump straight into 2 is going to be hard to overcome!

I'm looking forward to playing these but hoping for a physical release at some point. I've only played the first 30 minutes of Tomb Raider, then the next one I played was Legend. Being a bit of a Nintendo zealot growing up, I haven't bothered with the series much.

The original is definitely the best. Captures such a great sense of isolation and wonder. The 2nd game is very much the aliens to TR1's Alien.

Yep TR1 is amazing, not much combat at all, just exploration.

Only played it in Anniversary form. TR2 was my first Tomb Raider and I played it to death back in the day.

I mean, I was definitely going to play 1 first, if I'm being honest with myself. But you guys have absolutely convinced me and now I'm very excited for it.

I still have the OPSM demo disc that had tomb raider on it. That demo was just incredible at the time, plus it had that beautiful music on it

I still have my 1-3 original copies. Playing the first game all thr way through with a friend when it came out is a cherished memory.

I’ve never even played any of these :shifty: my two experiences of the franchise have been a demo disc where I locked the butler in the freezer and playing the reboot on PS3, which was pretty good actually.

There were two versions of the Tomb Raider demo on PlayStation. Demo 1 appeared on PSM disc #15 and Essential PlayStation, and Demo 2 ran on the Power Source: The Prince's Trust and Sony Demo Registration discs, before then appearing on OPM in much later editions.

Having not played them in so long however I can’t remember how they differed, and whether they both had the confrontation with the bear.

All I remember is one of them had the option to explore the manor on?

Just bought this while the 10% discount is active (Xbox). Cheap credit from CDKeys took it down to £20. Bargain, I reckon.

Got my tomb raider 1-3 out of storage earlier just for the nostalgic look at them. Couldn't find my opm demo but found the prince's trust one.

Does the original TR have secrets similar to 2's dragon figurines?

Well, to be clear there are items to pick up that give you a secret charm sound and there's a "secrets collected" stat for each level, but there isn't a single secret collectible item type like the dragon statues in 2 - it's usually just a standard item
