Worth mentioning that Max's Australia is one of the prototypical post-apocalyptic worlds. Just about everything that came after the original from Escape From New York to Borderlands was influenced by it.

I think the main reason I liked it was how little Tom Hardy it actually had in it, and his biggest badass moment (him disappearing into the night to fight the bullet farmer and his buddies) isn't even shown on screen

Even Nicholas Hoult is pretty good.

You say that like Nicholas Hoult is usually gooseberry fool. I don't think I've disliked him in anything I've seen him in, even the X-Men films.

He was okay in About a Boy but then I couldn't stand him in Skins.

He's not really your first thought for "action movie star", but he's so good as Nux.

And yet he's performed well in at least three action movies(Mad Max, First Class, DofP). Four if you count Jack the Giant Slayer, which I thought was a pretty passable update of the fairytale.

I know what you mean though, he's not exactly a Chris Hemsworth type modern action hero but then, I don't think you have to be anymore.

Mad Max: Fury Road
Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Brooklyn
Ant Man
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Inside Out

I was just typing out that I havent seen a bad movie this year and then I remembered I saw The Good Dinosaur, strawberry float me that was a waste of 2 hours.

You wrote it as if you weren't sure, even though it only came out about 3 months ago.

I wasn't sure AS was this year, my post was poorly worded so it seems like I'm unsure about both, fair enough.

I don't understand what point you were trying to make with your post. If you're trying to illustrate that my confusion over AS was justified but it's daft to think SOC might have been 2014 then you're making the exact same mistake I made originally by putting a question mark after it because it makes it seem like you're not sure.

I blame chalky.
