I'm intrigued to know how the story came out. Did BBC announce what happened and that Clarkson was suspended or was it all rumours, in normal every day events your employees won't go around telling local news and just generally the public about an incident that happened with you. Or was this all leaked news supposedly.

The Beeb announced they suspended him. Apparently he reported himself to Danny Cohen I am reading today. Dont see how they couldn't announce it if they were due to film on Wed.

I figure they could have kept it undercover whilst they review the situation and decided what they were going to do rather than let rumours fling about.

Saying that the BBC haven't exactly been in anyone's good books in a while due to covering things up.

I hear ya, but let;s face it. It would have leaked come the Wed - at least to the extent that "someone is going on - they cancelled the filming". Interestingly, the producer apparently didn't make a complaint.

Sort of on this topic, has anyone else watched the classic car show on five with Jodie Kidd. Its pretty good, and the cars are loooovely.

Sorry if already posted - this is about a week old now but worth watching. It's James May being interviewed by Sky on his doorstep:

What a lovely, lovely guy.

So Chris Evans will be the new host! Probably the right choice considering his passion for cars. Will never be the same though

As somebody said in the other thread, if it is TFI Chris Evans then this could be really good. But if it is One Show Chris Evans.... :dread:

Hmm I still can't see it working, like some pundits said on the news last night, plenty of people have tried to copy Top Gear and all have failed.

Glad it's Chris Evans. He knows his cars. Hopefully they don't follow the same format and change its direction.

I don't if it will work, but of all the people that were on the potential list he is the one it has the best chance with I think.
