As I recall reading, they were filming nearby, Clarkson was working on a steam engine locomotive, and this wedding was happening going on so they just joined in for the pictures.

Were they at the F1 today? they showed the stig for a few secs, dont know if it was the proper one or not, and my local paper says he takes his helmet off on tomorrows show

Black Stig was revealed for certain, which is why he went off the end of an aircraft carrier at the end of the second season.
