The great thing about Matt was he was obviously a huge car fan who loved the job and was just genuinely excited about the cars he reviewed.
He also didn't seem to feel the need to do crazy gooseberry fool for the sake of it and while there were stunts they were fairly tame and more fitting for guys that age.

I like Flintoff, not too keen on McGuinness.

They’ve said Rory will no longer have a “main presenting role”. Which is weird, him and Harris were decent.

I don’t mind Flintoff, but I just don’t see him as a presenter of a car show. McGuinness is just a bizarre appointment, he’s perfect for shite ITV Saturday night TV, but he isn’t somebody I want to see driving a Ferrari around the Nürburgring.

“How can we look like manly car people?”

“Stick a leather jacket on!”

“Perfect!”

I presume Keith Lemon wasn't available.

That would be preferable. At least that character is meant to be gooseberry fool.

Won't be watching this any more. Well, until they change the whole lineup again for the following series.

Some proper barrel scraping going on there. Won't be long before they're drafting in Alan Carr at this rate, they could get endless mileage out of the fact that his surname sounds like car.

I don't think Flintoff can play it any other way.

I haven't watched a single episode of Top Gear since the Clarkson/May/Hammond trinity finished. Those last few seasons with them were really crap, totally turned me off the show.
You can endure that same gooseberry fool over on Amazon. I thought the TG series with Matt were pretty good and cleared away the stale taste of Clarkson and team.

Yes?

I looked up some of Paddy McGuinness' "comedy" on Youtube.

I think i'll pass on the next series of Top Gear.

I get the impression Paddy McGuinnes thinks he’s funnier than he actually is. But then Steve Jones was also a massive bellend on everything he presented and despite retaining his irritating smugness has turned out alright fronting the F1, so who knows.

If Top Gear ever got sold to ITV, that is the line-up I would have expected.

Maybe more Phillip Schofield. Or Chris Karama...who actually would have been a much better choice than Paddy.

Is he still doing his ‘My English isn’t very good so here’s a load of innuendo about a big Italian sausage in my wife’s backdoors’ routine.

I'll just watch the Chris Harris segments on iPlayer and skip the rest.
