Warcraft and Diablo/Torchlight are different types of online RPG. One is more of an Action RPG, the other is a more traditional MMORPG. They similarly, but there are a lot more substantial differences. They shouldn't really compete, as such.

True, but I think it'll probably be more like Torchlight is a lobby for getting a party together and running off to the mines for co op.

They've got a lot more in common than that. The loot reward mechanic in WOW was pure Diablo, even if the frantic-click gameplay was gone.

Got to lvl 20 earlier. Some of the achievements for this on Steam are ridiculous. I'm fairly sure I was one earlier for getting 200,000 gold.

Does anyone else think the fish for transforming your pet are fairly useless? Mine is a already a killing machine without needing to change form. 8-)

I'm loving this at the moment. Loadsa fun ^_^ running around with a BIG GUN and throwing magic bolts at people while my cat and imps strawberry float gooseberry fool up by my side. It's really not that deep and I can imagine getting bored with it fairly quickly, but for a few quid in the steam sale it's well worth it.

It's on the bargain thread but just in case anyone is silly enough not to have bought this awesome game yet, Torchlight is available to buy on Steam with a whopping 75% discount making it £3.75. Silly money for one of the best games of last year.

I'm not so sure about one of the best games of last year, to be frank. For a game that was almost unanimously loved, I must say I tired of it rather quickly. I haven't finished it even once yet but I found it just didn't hold my attention very long. Normal mode is just a joke and hard isn't hard but it requires your constant attention and that isn't really what you want with this kind of game as it's rather repetitive.

Still, at £3.75 you'd be daft not to.

I bought this yesterday. It's alright. Glad I didn't pay any more for it than 3.75 as even in the beginning I wasn't happy too much with the level design, it just repeats itself under different skins.

If you guys are actually wanting a good RPG on the cheap, Space Rangers 2 is on steam, so wait for that to drop in price. It's laptop friendly and a strawberry floating amazing game to boot, full of loot, full of sidequests and one huge overarching main quest. It's got a little bit of everything in it as well, a mini economy system so there's money to be made by being a transporter, lots of text quests, lots of rpg elements with the loot, a little bit of levelling up of your skills too. There's also RTS elements to the game for when you're sent in to take over a planet again. Lots of headhunting missions. The game can be played in windowed mode and is very resource friendly too, so it's definitely a game that I've played many a time when I've been downloading but didn't want the downloading or the gaming to interfere with each other.

Torchlight pales in comparison in terms of depth to Space Rangers 2.

I've just seen this is £3.75. I know nothing about the game but that sounds like a bargain.

I'm in the middle of the first quest in the mines, but my eyes hurt. Is there any way to save and continue my progress from here later?
