I think he mainly just was being himself, despite the fame.
Which is fine IMO - he was a YT personality. With a personality.

Not some morality figurehead.

There are two camps on GRcade when it comes to Total Biscuit -- those just interested in paying respects to an entertainer whose content they enjoyed, and others who would rather have a political discussion about his personal history of misogyny and racism. (Full disclosure: I'm in the latter group.)

Please take it to the Total Biscuit's Legacy thread if you want to discuss that. We'll keep this thread for "RIP" posts.

Thanks all.

Karl, this is absolutely the right call. I never got into the whole GG stuff but I do agree there should be a place for members to talk about that on GRcade if they want. Likewise for some some it is upsetting to want to share a feeling of sympathy or grief without reading hard criticisms or vitriol which, in the context of being placed amongst sympathy comments, whilst genuine opinion, can come across as trolling. This way everyone has a choice. Thank you.

I was aware that TB had one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel for some time now (he spoke about it on his interview with H3H3 some months back) so while this doesn't come as a total suprise, I was still saddened to hear it. I fondly remember his videos on how modern FPS games have gone backwards and why pre-ordering games is bad (before this became a mainstream opinion and something of a meme in and of itself) as well as the co-optional podcasts featuring other critics I like (Super Bunnyhop, Yahtzee Croshaw)

There have been a lot of high profile celebrity deaths since the end of 2015, but the two that have hardest for me personally have both been very recent - Avicii and now TB - as both were men whose work I actually followed and enjoyed over the past few years until now. Sad times indeed
