I've also seen multiple other tribute bundles and the like to the guy. Hands up, I didn't know about their financial situation. This move now makes more sense and seems appropriate. I should have made more effort and looked into it before damning it from the start.

I was wrong.

Their financial situation is regrettable and no young child should have to lose a parent like this, the US is such a strawberry floated up place that dying from an illness like this can then go on to potentially bankrupt your grieving family.

That said, and I admit I know very little about this Total Biscuit person, but judging from what some people have revealed in this thread it seems like he was not exactly a force for good and used his quite significant influence in not necessarily constructive ways?

In which case in a country where there are no doubt many young families having to cope with the loss of a loved one in similar circumstances and the associated financial consequences it does feel somewhat irksome that the family where the guy seems to have been quite a bit of a dick are the ones getting financial assistance handed out to them.

I guess the people giving them money don't feel that way.

Which may well be fair enough - like I say I don't know the ins and outs of this guys life. There just seemed to be something approaching a consensus on here that he was at least a bit on the shady side of things.

Obviously if Blizzard love the guy and what to support his family as a recognition of how he helped them personally then as you say that is their call.

Right now take that attitude and apply in future before posting up a storm about a person being literally Hitler for being sexist.

I get that my posting style puts a lot of people's backs up. I've said I'll work on it as that's not (usually) my intention and I have. However, I believe passionately in the things I post about and often this gets the better of me.

Having said that, strawberry float right off with this sort of condescendingly patronising post. Block me if you feel you need to, but don't post at me like some errant child.

Yikes.

No-one has come off well over the last page or so. Let's just put this thread to bed and try to forget it happened. Locked.
