I am still watching this, but it's a bit too spiritual and emotional and wanky at present. There's definitely a darker, more compelling show with the concept, but it's not happening yet. Heroes Season 1 was so a fluke for Kring.

It's mainly watchable because of Kiefer Sutherland.

This show is dire. Started off with a bit of promise but everything comes together far too neatly.

Plus, what's with all DEM FOREIGNS being obsessed with american culture?! Kids in Iraq? No problem, they just want to be dancers LIKE IN AMERICA LOL.

It also seems to be 'how can we sneak a 'dammit!' into this episode LOL' at the moment.

The script must read as:

Keifer: *huffing and puffing, out of breath for no reason*
"Jake!"
"Jake!"
"Jake!"
"Jake!"
"JAKE!"
"*huff puff* sorry *huff* he'smyson *huff*"
"Jake!"
"Jake!"
"Jake!"
"Jake!"
"JAKE!"
"*huff puff* sorry *huff* he'smyson *huff*"
"Jake!"
"Jake!"

"JAKE!"

Definitely joins WAAAAAAAAALT and JASOOOOOOOONNNNN in the pantheon of kids' names.

Jake's so strawberry floating annoying. He just keeps disobeying his father and running away. Every bloody episode. Sit down, kid!

I gave up after 3 episodes, so boring and samey. Will read the plot on Wikipedia when the 1st season ends to see if anything actually happened.

Every episode synopsis thus far:

Goes to see jake > Talks with future love interest > Jake somehow escapes from under their noses and ends up in some random's house, who is inexplicably fine with it > JAAAAAAAKE! > Danny Glover wishes Mel Gibson wasnt a racist and therefore stopping another Lethal Weapon remake > 24 Movie on hold > Vague interest because its related to heroes in some form

I've got all the episodes aired so far downloaded, but I haven't got 5 mins past the 2nd ep

Echo the complaints people have made in here, I want to like it for Kiefer but it's just so gooseberry fool. Can't believe the 24 movie is on hold for the 2nd season of this. :| :|

I know :fp:

Interestingly much of last week's Touch viewing was spent reminising about how awesome 24 is/was.

Would people rather watch this:

No, I'm finding it surprisingly watchable. Kiefer's getting a bit more to do now than just chasing after Jake, and one of the side plots this week was really corny (and I wasn't entirely sold on how it ended) but it was impossibly sweet. The other one, however, was ridiculously clichéd, and had that guy doing one of the worst accents I've ever heard. Was he meant to be Australian? Last week's was better, mind.

I quite like this series. It isn't great but it does have an odd sort of charm. Not sure how long it has in it, Jake is bordering on the punchable now. He has reached the point where Sutherland needs to give him a good hiding!

Some of the ending wrap ups are a little corner but it keeps my interest waiting to see how it all fits together.
