Hype

Never finished Toukiden, although I put a hell of a lot of hours into it.

Same with Soul Sacrifice and Delta. And also Freedom Wars. Need to finish them all.

Does it have character transfer?

I don't know if this answers your question, but someone asked a similar one in the PS Blog post linked above...

Hey! Quick question @ Chin Soon Sun: will those of us who bought the original Toukiden for the PS Vita, will we be able to transfer our save data from that game to the Kiwami version? It would be great to dive directly in to the new story content without having to restart all the way from the beginning. On another note, I can’t wait for this to come out!

Yes, you can carry across save data, including weapons, armour, Mitama and progress levels from Toukiden: The Age of Demons to Toukiden: Kiwami.

Cross-play is confirmed too.

Awesome. Is it cross buy or just cross play? PS4 version looks lovely but portability is more important

Cross play is confirmed. Cross buy isn't. Yet.

I can confirm on the cross-save which is a yes. As for the cross-buy, I don’t know yet. I’ll share more information when the time comes.

Well, here's hoping. It would make sense at least, a load of games seem to be doing it if they are on both.

Not that anyone will be playing this any time soon :slol: but it's getting decent reviews (not many from well known outlets yet, though) and the demo is out now too.

Made a start on this (instead of Watch Derps) earlier in the week and am enjoying it. Everything works as you'd expect it to and other than being unhappy about the small size of the stages and the many, though admittedly nippy, load screens my biggest gripe is how the devs were not able to make one of the game's main features (lopping parts off bosses) work in any meaningful way.

omfg the grind.

After around chapter 4 or 5 the game basically asks you to fight boss after boss. This wouldn't be too bad if the chapters were short but they consist of 10+ of such encounters. During my last sessions I thought I'd beaten the last story boss, unfortunately I was out of luck and found myself being presented with *another* chapter and *another* list of bosses that needed taking down.

How this game managed to score good reviews I will never know.

Soul Sacrifice and Dragon's Dogma. Neither of which were anywhere near as boring as Toukiden.

I actually don't mind a grind (as my years of playing WoW will attest to) but when the complete package is so devoid of interest (*tiny* stages, superficial gameplay features and the same old features which you've seen so many times you know how it works without even bothering to play it) you can't help but take note of the tedium.
