What's with the fireworks in that gif? Why are there always fireworks?

If you didn't like the first three then you won't like the 4th. If you enjoyed at least one of the first three then it will be worth either seeing it or waiting for some reviews.

I love 1 and 3, and I'm really looking forward to this. The snobbery towards these films always amuses me.

I never made it to the end of 3, and I don't think I'll ever watch 1 and 2 again. It's strange, I enjoyed the first one when it came out but since then I've never been able to watch it all the way through.

Snobbery is entirely the wrong word. I mean, entirely. Is it snobbish to say Hitler was bad? Is it snobbish to say The Simpsons has gotten progressively worse? These are bad films. Bad, bad films. I enjoy mindless actioners as much as the next person, I love Pacific Rim par example. The Transformers movies however are poorly made, awfully scripted, CGI toy adverts with some entirely inappropriate T&A thrown in for the man-children who seem to actually want to force themselves to enjoy them.

So I take it you're not going to watch tf4 then?

I don't have a problem with people not likeing these films. There's thousands of films I don't like but some people, not saying you, seem to want to keep going on about how bad these films are, which I don't get. If I don't have an interest in a film I don't keep going into forums about it and saying how awful it is and how stupid people are for likeing them.

I personally enjoyed watching all 3 so far the first time I saw them. I don't have that much interest in watching them multiple times but I find them appealing enough to watch them in the cinema at release.

Some transformers just want to have fun and set off fireworks whilst offers just want to shoot the others brains out.

The thing is with these movies is that for as long as they keep making around a $1bn per movie paramount is going ro keep chasing michael bay to make them. Its likely bay will decide to quit before paramount dump him.

I enjoy the films. Theres plenty of things I would prefer to change as a fan of transformers from the 80s but no directors ever going to make the film I envision so im happy enough with the current take. If paramount decide to reboot them in ten years time then I will give that a wirl too.

I thought the first film was okay if a bit long. The second and third are some of the worst films I've ever seen though. Not Star Wars Episode II bad, but close.

My main problems with the films are that there's too much focus on the human characters, the fight sequences between autobots and decepticons are quite confusing as nearly every robot looks similar when theres hundreds of explosions happening and the 'comedy' characters are terrible.

I think the first films Iron Giant/One-boy-&-his-dog(robot) narrative was interesting enough to sustain a film, however that all the films have simply become a CGI fest with cringe-worth T&A moments and terrible dialogue.

Usually I'm not one to criticise film choice too harshly as everyone is entitled to their opinion. Transformers on the other hand is a series I consider indicative of a general lowering of the lowest common denominator. They are the Justin Bieber of modern cinema remaining hugely, hugely popular, where much better films of the same ilk, Pacific Rim again, are relegated to fighting for a sequel. Michael Bay has somehow become celebrated for his ability to make mindless rubbish. I find it slightly depressing when otherwise perfectly intelligent folk, our very own Mafro for example, turn into staunch defenders of a series so utterly free of merit: artistic, aesthetic or cinematic.

Transformers 3 is one of, if not the, worst films I've ever seen at the cinema.

I do agree on the fight scenes. They are very hard to follow.

Personally I've never had a problem with the human focus though.

Mostly the comedy characters are terrible yes, I agree on that.

But I've still enjoyed the films enough.

You didn't see Revenge of the Fallen in the cinema? The 2nd movie is a pile of crap and the worst one of the three. The only redeeming thing in it is Peter Cullen. The third one is pretty mediocre though.

I liked the first one, even if it was really flawed. They are not a patch on the animated film, which is one of my favourite movies.

I have to agree with this, I quite enjoyed the first one. The second was awful, like really, really awful but still for some reason I enjoyed it. The third had no redeeming characteristics, I actually felt a bit embarrassed watching it.

I liked the first one as a popcorn no-brainer/hungover film.

The second one was okay.

The third one should be tried as a war crime and Michael Bay should be held responsible for it.

Funny that Bay say "no dinobots! They don't fit in today." or some bullshit like that, decides to bring the Dinobots in the new one. I would be surprised if it's much worse than the third one.

Third one is probably my favourite overall despite the lack of Megan Fox.

Regarding the Dinobots, this is an interesting read http://www.polygon.com/2012/11/14/35586 ... e-dinobots

Interesting read thanks for that.

Strange how hasbro think. Maybe it was hasbro and not bay thst stopped the dinobots from appearing in the first three films. He also made statements saying that the dinobots didnt make sense and that there was no storyline way of bring them in but then had scorpinok tunneling around the desert.

There have been plenty of ways to bring them in. My favourite being that the autobots took their form from a museum or they crash landed here millions of years ago and were frozen etc

Not sure how they are bringing them in this film but my only concern is their size. I would have prefered grimlock to be optimus prime size.

It's a shame we don't have access to the GR archive. I managed to get a preview of the first film and called it absolute trash in a thread and the fans who hadn't even seen it flipped out at me. Good times

17 year old me loved the original first time round, I was stupidly excited for it and saw both that and The Simpsons Movie on the same day.

By the time I saw Transformers 2 I knew it was all total bobbins.
