Thinking about it. I can get a $20 PSN card for less than £20. So I'll do that. Might get a $50 one so I can get Marvel vs Capcom 2 also.

So when did $20 end up as £20 :| Steam it is then.

£15 on PC from Gameplay.

Think I'll get that instead.

£20 :|

May as well set up a US account and buy it through that if it's possible. At current exchange rates that comes down to around £12.50, and indie developer or not, there's absolutely no justifiable reason why they should get $20 for their game if bought in the US and $32 if it's bought from the UK.

Yeah it is. You just need a US PSN Card. Ebay have plenty. Just search PSN Cards.

The XBLA version and its features is just speculation at this point. I can say that in all honesty, as developers, we would love as many people as possible to be able to play our games and therefore I hope Trine will eventually find its way to XBLA too. We are not really looking to take sides in the console wars, we just want people to play our games - obviously more platforms means more money but it also means that everybody could play the game on their favorite console.

That said, the fact is that the PSN and PC versions will be released a lot earlier than any possible other versions, and the PSN and PC versions are what we are focusing on right now.

Understandable that they want to focus on the versions that are actually out or due very soon, but the publisher (can't remember who) confirmed at E3 that they'd be doing a XBLA version at some point.

Is US sales tax charged when using a PSN card? That bit me back in the day of using my credit card on the store.

Price reduced on PSN

Update: Many of you have been asking about the price of Trine and in a few comments below I mentioned that it would be £19.99 / € 19.99 - please note that the price is actually expected to be £16.99 and €19.99. I’m sorry for any confusion caused.

£16.99 is still £2 more than you can get it for on PC (right now too).

I'll probably just wait it out until it's inevitably in a Steam sale.

So, since when was a decent sidescrolling platformer not worth £20? Hell, I'm pretty sure I've paid more for Castlevania games on DS.

Things are generally more expensive on something like a DS though.

It also depends how big and how good the game is. The DS Castlevania games (well the ones worth getting) are pretty massive and great games as well.

I've not played Trine yet, that's why I'm asking. Is it particularly short or something?

It's just, from here, it looks like people are drawing the line because it's fairly expensive for a 2.5D game - though to be fair, the presentation looks a notch above some of the cheaper 2D games on Steam. Though I grant, it is a pain in the arse that it's arbitrarily so expensive on PC, but relatively cheap on console.
