Is it actually worth watching the final season or is it all soap-opera, twilight gooseberry fool as I imagine?

If you imagine plenty of sex scenes, death, action and decent characters, then as you imagine.

Yes?

Not a good return with a terrible ending. Weird Shitty off-screen death for Tara but not too bothered as a mostly bad character. Nice amount of nudity. I guess the storylines will be Pam hunts for Eric and the battle against bad vampires.

Apparently she's dead but she'll be back later anyway. Probably as a ghost. :simper:

The problem with True Blood is it sets up some really good ideas, but does so with terrible execution. Last seasons vampire camps was a very good idea, but the terrible side storylines and a general lack of quality just lets the show down. Season 2 with the religious factions was still the best overall arc.

The less talk of Warlow and the fairies the better.

Happened off-screen so maybe not. Would be outrageously stupid to fake kill her for a second time but this is True Blood, so it wouldn't surprise me.

As usual, the Sookie stuff was terrible. Rest of the episode was average to mildly enjoyable.

It blows my mind that it's done by the same guy who wrote Six Feet Under. Madness.

I haven't read the novels TB was adapted from but they must be a huge part of the problem because everything else Ball's had a hand in has been ace. For a show so big on explicit scenes TB feels strangely restricted when it comes to the storytelling; like the writers are on a very tight leash for some reason.

Skimming Wikipedia it seems the TV show's plot has been completely different from the books for years.

7x05 was awful. I ended up skipping all scenes Eric wasn't in.

The whole thing has been awful. Doesn't seem to be heading anywhere worthwhile and we're halfway done.

I'm quite enjoying the fact that they seem quite happy to kill off the entire supporting cast over the course of the season. Adds some intrigue as to who will cop it next.

Only just watched the 2nd episode yesterday.
FFS, I don't want to see Jason and Erik getting it on, regardless of whether it is in Jason's dream :x
