I find myself in the same vein as previous seasons, thinking the main vampire story is good but everything else is crap. The werewolf story is interesting and am going to wait and see about the whole Tara is a vamp story. Hopefully it might make her character actually interesting :shifty:

Just watched 5x01 and I didn't hate it which was a surprise. Tara's resurrection was a massive creative mistake but the Eric and Bill stuff was far better than anything they've done since like season 3.

The best thing about this season so far, which has been alright overall, is the abundance of Pam. Really enjoying the character building they're doing with her.

At least Tara talks less as a vamp.

Four episodes in, True Blood appears to have recovered after the mess of season 4 and become good again. It's no coincidence the worst plotline (Lafayette becoming a wizard or whatever) is a remnant from season 4.

Pam telling Tara that humans were beneath them made me think they were going to reveal her as the one who dug up Russell when I had been thinking it was Salome who seemed the obvious choice.

Didn't really like this weeks episode so much. There's a lack of blood filled sex lately.

I miss Lorena.

Obligatory "use Usenet/a better ISP" comment.

Alternatively just set it to download overnight when they'll most likely raise the cap.

Really starting to get sick of how much they're dragging everything out. And I don't mind a slow burn show but when I can't find myself getting interested in half of the (ridiculously too many) stories being told, it's a problem. Nothing is progressing at a satisfying pace because for some reason we have to check in with every character each week. Although I have to hand it to them in that they've managed to make Tara a bearable character.

5x08- Bill being the vampire who killed Sookie's parents would be stupid so that's what's inevitably going to happen.

Were I a shifter and I had to fight several humans who wanted to kill me, I would probably turn into a tiger or grizzly bear instead of fighting them as a naked human.

Bill and Eric's potentially amazing pairing, with the exception of some odd good moments, has been so strawberry floating wasted this season. So unbelievably sick of this Lilith bullshit.

At least it seems like Hoyt and Terry's sections are pretty much done with. I did like how Sookie, Hoyt and Sam's plots collided. And Robert Patrick!

Starting to pick up now.

Last two episodes have been pretty good so far.

So, season over.

Disappointed that Russell Edgington was killed off in such an anti-climactic fashion.
