TV on Standby being detected as a monitor

Ok, so I've hooked my new HDTV up to my PC as a monitor for when I want to watch things. The only problem is, it goes into standby mode rather than turning off (Samsung said you have to turn off from mains, which is a pain) and the computer still picks it up as a monitor. So I still lose my mouse off of the side the screen.

I've tried scanning for changes in device manager and that doesn't change anything. The only thing I can do so far to fix it is to unplug the HDMI cable, which is far from ideal.

Is there a fix for this? I've tried googling and I can't find anything either.

Press Win+P to quickly disable an additional screen.

Yeah, Win+P is your best friend in these situation.

Can be a bit fiddly with regards to which screen is the Primary and Secondary. Having sound coming from the TV basically sets it up as another Sound Device as well, which can cause other small headaches.

Yeah, it's counting my TV as No.1 so this isn't working right now :(

Turn TV on and use it etc. then set the one you want as main in display properties, then standby it.

Sadly changing the primary display (which I have already), doesn't make a difference to what Win+P uses.

EDIT: Found a workaround, use Projector only.
