Did people really expect Lost to answer everything scientifically? I know about the claims of Lindelof, but I think it was clear there was going to be a pretty big mystical element from the early episodes.

There was only going to be a mystical element, because the writers literally had no idea what they were doing from season 2 onwards. Honestly, none of it made any sense.

I think a paralyzed man being able to walk again introduced the mystical element as early as the 4th episode. I don't have a problem with the show being written as it was going on as that's how a lot of things work, and I think they answered mostly everything by the end (whether the answers were satisfying or not is a different argument). I don't think the ending was perfect by any means, but I enjoyed it, and I don't think it retrospectively ruins the previous 6 years of the show either way. While not the best show I've ever seen, Lost was certainly one of the most enjoyable to watch week by week and discuss all the twists etc. as they happened.

Yeah it made literally no sense to me at all.

Didn't they say it was because the Cylons could track/find them if the technology was still operational?

The final series of Lost is unfortunately pretty bad, but I really liked the double last episode and there is no way one bad series could ruin what was, for me, an incredible journey/experience up to that point.

Dexter was crap, bit it had become awful anyway and I was relieved when it ended.

Sons of Anarchy can just strawberry float off altogether.

The Sopranos was a bit daft. I still remember the tension, physically holding my breath and then... well, you'll know if you've seen it. Similarly to Lost, though, it doesn't ruin the hours and hours of enjoyment that preceded it.

Ooh stealth pick since I'm probably the only person whose seen it but Popular is incredible for this, the cliffhanger was one of the main characters being run over and killed.

But unlike most dumb cliffhangers they knew the show would probably be cancelled and used in the ending in the hope that it would make the network not want to cancel a show with such a major plot point in the air, it got cancelled anyway

Far from the worst ending ever, but season 5 of The Wire remains incredibly disappointing. Felt like a load of short sighted fan service, with lots of characters acting in ways they really wouldn't have done, purely so someone in the writing team could feel clever about making everything come full circle again, as though it was making some grand point by showing everything repeating itself, despite it not fitting in properly at all.

Yeah, I'm in the middle of rewatching this and at times I wonder if it'll just be better to end at season four.

Get tah strawberry float. The ending of The Wire is great. And season 5 is great too. It gets such a bad rap from most. I loved it. Watched it again last year in HD and it held up wonderfully.

No worries I knew it was going to be gooseberry fool like that . I watch Netflix so for me it was like "oh cool a new show" and just like with sky 1 etc everyone seems to have already watched or downloaded it and they don't even have the full show. :fp:

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles pissed me off how it ended due to being cancelled , ithe ending suggested they were going to do the Skynet War storyline too, which could have been brilliant.

I still can't understand how it did so badly.

I liked Dexter's ending. It could have been better. Much better but hey ho.

I thought they could have ended it after season 5 anyway.

I really loved the Sopranos denouement. It was a great way to say goodbye to those characters.

I'm still blown away by Hannibals ending and really hoping they pick it up again.

The Sopranos' ending is absolutely genius.

How I Met Your Mother made the entire series an exercise in redundancy, so that gets my vote.
