Twitch streaming trends: butts and boobs?

I'm not too up-to-date on Twitch trends but I was aware that hot tub streams were gaining in popularity over the last year or two.

Now it seems that displaying gameplay on one's butt or boobs is the hot new thing.

On March 12, risqué streamer Morgpie streamed herself reacting to creator Charles “MoistCr1TiKaL” White’s YouTube video about Twitch’s evolution. Instead of just doing a normal picture-in-picture broadcast, Morgpie did a split-screen view featuring MoistCr1TiKaL’s video being displayed on her ass. The video gained some traction online, but that wasn’t the one that seems to have established this new meta on the livestreaming platform. Instead, it was a different broadcast of hers from March 14, which saw her work out for a bit before green-screening her Fortnite gameplay on a huge image of her butt.

Crikey. I'm wondering if any GRcadians will now be incorporating this style of broadcast into their streams. Perhaps Pedz and Cumberdanes co-op gameplay could gain even more attraction on a butt? Or maybe Cheeky Devlin's legendary retro shooter nights could work well on a set of bangers?

It certainly feels like things can move pretty fast on the cutting edge of game streaming.

Things have been sliding this way for a while now (as a general trend that is - I don't mean GRcade streamers specifically! )

Sadly Twitch knows that their platform generates a huge amount of its visitors through this stuff and so they are always going to be wary of losing those "content creators" who provide this and their audience.

This kind of thing has been going on for a while, right? There was some big fuss a couple of years back where the serious gamer boys were getting all upset that girls streaming with a bit of skin on show were eclipsing them in views, and wanted them kicked off the platform, which was why the hot tubs category got added. I'm sure it also tied into the big fedora-wearing misogynist energy thot audit that was doing the rounds on socials at that time where a load of basement dwellers tried harassing and reporting sex workers on twitter etc to the IRS on the assumption that everyone with an onlyfans wouldn't be declaring their income.

Twitch doesn't really seem to know what it wants to be. They've grown far beyond just being a game streaming platform, and they have a category for almost everything, and a general category for the rest. But then they don't want to be an actual porn platform because it would ruin their advertising position, so they have to draw the line somewhere around what's acceptable and what's not. They clearly want the eyeballs and revenue that comes with ladies streaming in bikinis for hours on end day after day, and there's clearly an audience for it based on the view figures some of these channels get. But they've gone back and forth several times over what it's and isn't OK in terms of content for "older audiences". It's a bit like the dril racism/price is right tweet, they're just turning a big dial taht says sex content and looking back at the advertisers for approval.

About 6 weeks ago, Twitch changed their policy and allowed drawn nudity in the art category, with expected results

I don't think it even lasted 24 hours.

Valid comment on the "audit". I can imagine the fervour to incriminate the "sluts" from probably similar if not same individuals subscribing to patreons, and sending fun money "cheers"/donations to their favourite alt right dickweed on stream casually dropping racial slurs and moaning about EDI, woke this or that etc etc. But a bit of arsecheek or side boob HELL NAW THIS BE SIN, eliminate the wahmens etc.

I find it all hilarious and enjoy the "meta narrative".

I also find it artful the innovation on display here.

In the clip in that Kotaku article, I assume she's wearing green hotpants, and then using greenscreen overlay to display the game she's playing across her arse.

If I streamed I'd be tempted to parody this by projecting the footage onto my flabby guts while wearing a mankini but don't think anyone really wants to see that.
