Lots of fuss about nothing - and, as usual, we see the likes of the NSPCC getting their rent-a-quote dutifully reported by a clueless BBC (who clearly disapprove of this kind of thing). When will people realise that every child should be imprisoned in a cotton wool bubble and never allowed anywhere near that nasty thing called real life? I was chatting to a neighbour yesterday and she was telling me, without a hint of shame, how her seventeen year-old daughter has never used public transport because 'she doesn't feel comfortable on it'.

Cal, that is a literally strawberry floating amazing use of Thailand as a shining example of a country that knows what's ok and not ok when it comes to whether or not they're exploiting children.

Nice work.

I do think that paying to watch a couple of kids wrestle is a bit shady however. Kinda like those kids beauty pageants. The only adults that ought to be at this kind of event are the parents and trainers etc. like at a school sports day.

I would argue Drama is a more productive subject for an aspiring wrestler than PE

In some ways it is.

Brazillian Jui-Jitsu tournaments in America have specific rules for kids under 15 years old (and anyone below a set belt level) to ensure their safety - it looks like none of those rules were in effect at this event:

Illegal Techniques for KIDS up to 15 years old
Illegal Techniques for ALL AGES & ALL DIVISIONS will apply plus the following:
NO Ezequiel Chokes
NO Attacks below the waist (i.e. NO Foot Locks, Heel Hooks, Knee Bars, Toe holds)
NO Guillotine Chokes
NO Neck Cranks
NO Cervical Locks (i.e. crucifix)
NO Pulling the head while in the Guard (Can Opener)
NO Triangle while pulling the Head
NO Wrist Locks
NO Calf Locks
NO Scissors Takedown
NO Biceps Locks
NO Omoplata (Shoulder Lock)

America has no problem with grappling events for kids but if they followed the rules this stupid promoter in the UK set you can be sure it would have been shut down immediately.
