Pretty much agree with everyone else here really, i thought she did a real solid job, had more charisma the the majority of other hosts we saw. That other guy on the otherhand I just couldn't stand.. I can't believe she's had to put up with racist abuse and whatnot though.

I didn't have a problem with the script. I thought she was confident, funny, appropriately enthusiastic without going overboard and her delivery was pleasingly snappy (compare her to the pauses...after...every...word of the likes of Reggie Fils-Aime and Scott Moffitt).

I thought the script was almost funny and mostly cringeworthy, but to be honest it's a job, if someone paid me to do it, I'd do it and gamer or not, I don't see why she has anything to prove (certainly not with an embarrassing outburst like that).

Because it's cliche, overly dramatic and looks like she's got something to prove, when she hasn't.

If anyone refuses to believe I like video games then I really don't care, to be honest. Even if it was something I cared about I don't see why I would need to prove that I've got some "cred" if strangers on the Internet choose not to believe me.

She felt she did. I don't see why it was clichéd. As far as I'm concerned, this was a great way of getting one over on a bunch of racist, sexist assholes. Good for her.

I would write a similarly disjointed, impassioned, end of American Beauty post, tentatively titled "I Disagree," to demonstrate how pretentious and gimpy what she wrote is but I can't really be bothered.

A true gamer wouldn't go to such extreme lengths to prove they were a true gamer.
