Here's some actual, proper gameplay at last

They've done a pretty stellar job in terms of how the game looks. It does look very legit which is impressive. Didn't like commentary much, it's authentic in that Joe and Goldie are the voices, but seems limited script wise, so will likely get repetitive quickly. Animations are good, but still something about it still feels a bit off with the combat. I just doesn't look that fluid animation wise or with the collisions. Though I can appreciate it must be hard for he devs to be able to nail that in a game this complex you know? But because of this I can't see it being something I'd play for long. I think I would get tired of it fairly fast. Still, wouldn't mind trying it out.

so disappointed with this latest video.

Buffer sounds so unhyped and slowwwww ... the complete opposite to the gameplay which looks more like it plays like Tekken. The fighters hardly respond to punches and kicks that land right on the money. I was just expecting more I think.

I'm really impressed with the animation, looks detailed fluid and snappy. Can't say I'm impressed with the impacts (or lack there of), but I did like the way some of the kicks got stuck on the opponent's shoulder, so it's not just a canned animation when you hit someoneone, very physics driven.

The impacts reminded me of Fight Night, which makes sense

Yes, the impacts are a combination of animation and physics, unlike fighting games like Tekken that use purely canned animations.

I like the kick at 4:07 where the guy on the right kicks and his foot gets stuck on his opponent's knee for a split second, this is what next-gen is about for me.

Odd that they'd go with arguably the two best fighters in the game (barring Anderson Silva and Bruce Lee) for the demo.

The models do indeed look great but then they move and uncanny valley hits you in the face.

What's the general consensus from people who've downloaded and played the demo then?

Downloading now. I will get back to you. Fyi I loved UFC 1-3 on xbox 360, fight night games were awesome and EA MMA had potential.

It feels very different to Undisputed so it'll take some getting used to before I can properly judge it. My demo seems to running funny too, hopefully the final game is smoother

The standing controls are similar to UFC 3.

Not sure what to make of this thus far, it's not bad, I've had some glitches with animations on Jones. The main gripe is that the punches seem so "soft" like when you play fight night and rock someone you're like "damn that must have been a tough shot." it seems to be missing that.

It's ok. Done a good job with the likenesses but it doesn't blow me away graphically.

Controls are good, very like the THQ games from what I remember. Although I forgot how to do quite a bit by the time I got into the fights. Will take a while to get used to the submission system. Also going from animation to animation isn't very fluid and the lack of impacts really hurts the feel.

Not had chance to try the demo out yet but does this have the same unpredictability to the fights that the THQ games had?

I loved how some fights would go on for ages with loads of reversals etc.. but equally, you could get one lucky punch or kick and have it end out of nowhere. Remember playing against a mate, I ran straight at him and nailed him with a flying punch and got an instant knockout, whole fight was over in about 3 seconds.
