UFC Undisputed 3 announced: PRIDE Mode!

THQ has officially announced UFC Undisputed 3 with the first details and screenshots arriving online.

The franchise is moving away from a yearly release schedule with Undisputed 3 set to arrive in 2012, leaving a two year gap between it and UFC Undisputed 2010. THQ has used the added development time to include new features such as Pride matches (based on the old Pride Fighting Championship franchise).

Anyone who had the pleasure of seeing a Pride fight back in the day will know that it was a much more violent affair (yes, there are degrees of violence in MMA, would you believe?) during a time when rules more or less went out of the window.

There are also aims to make the gameplay more accessible with an alternate, simplified control system and a number of changes have been made to the striking and grappling systems generally.

Pride mode
The no-holds-barred Japanese MMA league brings with itbrutal soccer-style kicks, head stomps and ground knees to the head.

All they need to do is sort out submissions and I'm more than up for this!

I loved UFC Undisputed and 2010, the only real problem I had with it was the shitty servers they used for matchmaking strawberry floating rubbish, and the menus were slow as strawberry float!

Finishing moves though? Like wrassling?! I hope not too much focus is put on this, as the fun of the first games were the flash knockouts!

I suppose it'll just be unique moves for each fighter (Jones spinning elbow, Hughes running slam that kind of thing) rather than anything wrassling related.

All sounds good though, looking forward to seeing if it's more than just a Smackdown-style update á la 2010.

Just to concur with zXe's point, where did you get this from? It's a now defunct japanese MMA federation that was based inside a boxing ring. It had slightly different rules, (head stomps, 10 minute first round) but it's nothing like backyard wrestling

By the way does any one else agree with me that EA MMA is much much better then Undisputed games?

Well... It's a complicated situation. If Zuffa honor the EA and Strikeforce original contract then it will be a sad day but knowing Dana and the history between him and EA I'm not so sure they would care much for EA.

Now that Diaz officially signed to fight in the UFC I'm sure we will see fighters step by step sign to fight in the UFC.

Worse was when you'd get someone down and they'd do nothing but spam reversals. First time I saw it I thought the game was glitched. :lol:
