EDGE wrote:The combined UK lifetime sales of PS2, DS, PSP, Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii hit 32 million units as of January 31, 2009, according to data from sales monitor Gfk Chart Track.

The data, contained in retailer Game’s latest financial presentation, shows combined Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii sales of ten million units in the UK.

Wii leads the way with 4.9 million sales since launching in December 2006. Having released a year earlier, Xbox 360 sales total 3.2 million. PS3 sales sit at 1.9 million units since the system launched in March 2007.

Combined DS and PSP sales have hit 12 million units in the UK. Since launching in March 2005 the DS has moved 8.8 million units, while PSP has sold 3.2 million units since debuting in September 2005.

The ageing PS2 has sold ten million units since launching in November 2000.

Game’s report also contains lifetime hardware sales for the other territories in which the company operates, which includes France, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, the Czech Republic and Australia.

Combined hardware sales in non-UK Game markets total 42.7 million. Individual platform sales figures largely reflect UK sales trends, with one notable exception – PS3 sales are 300,000 greater than those of Xbox 360.

Combined hardware sales in all Game markets (UK and other) total 74.7 million units.

Earlier today Game posted record results for the financial year ended January 31, 2009, reporting gains in both turnover and profit.

DS leads the pack, though PS3 is ahead of 360 on the continent

As part of its full year financial results posting earlier today, retailer GAME has dished out the numbers on UK lifetime sales of all today’s gaming platforms.

It’s the DS that leads the pack, unsurprisingly, with total lifetime sales of 8.8m units. Next in line is its home console cousin the Wii, which has sold 4.9m machines since its release in December 2006.

Xbox 360 has to date shifted 3.2m units, the same amount as Sony’s PSP, though the handheld has been on the market for 14 months longer in the UK.[WRONG - Shadow]

Sony’s PS3, meanwhile, has now sold 1.9m units in just over two years on the shelves.

Today’s current-gen consoles have sold a total of 32m units in the UK in total – meaning that, in theory, half of the UK population now owns a games console, though of course many gamers will own more than one system.

None of today’s consoles have yet matched PS2’s UK achievements, however. UK sales of Sony’s still-popular console have now hit 10m.

In mainland Europe the total console install base now stands at 42.7m, with PS3 actually ahead of Xbox 360 by 300,000 units.

DS - 8.8Mil
Wii - 4.9Mil
360 - 3.2Mil

So the 360s UK sales are enough to keep it ahead overall in Europe? I honestly thought the Wii had sold more than the combined 360 and PS3 figures as well.
