It's the playbook from 2008.

Borrowed from the German excuses of 1938/1939.

His "but but NATO" cassus belli wasn't working so Putin's now pivoted to genocide.

It's sickening to see that he can seemingly throw around a word like genocide with impunity. Obviously it's entirely baseless but you'd still hope when something like that was said the UN would be able to immediately step in and demand observers and concrete proof.

It's improved since 2008 and 2014 but our politicians and media still need to be a lot better and clearer in their calling out of Russia's constant lies.

Most of our media can't even manage to call out the UK/US government lies.

Seems they'll be pushing ahead with the invasion, with the most transparent false flag operation available, which will only satisfy the most bad faith tankie and the odd member of the Russian public.

Johnson has now said Putin is planning to invade and it'll be the biggest war in Europe since 1945.

He's so strawberry floating desperate to be wartime Churchill. When in reality he will be a piss poor cosplay version of Suez era Eden.

My point was more that people don't realise how many conflicts there have been in Europe since the second world war.
Is the Chechen wars the most deaths? Approx half a million dead or missing.

The Bosnian war would probably be the largest one for Europe. Even larger if you include the rest of the Yugoslav wars.

Putin has decided to recognise the 'breakaway' regions of Ukraine. Next russian troops will be 'invited' into these areas.
