They made a TV Show out of Dirk Gently? I can't see this ending well.

There was a one-off special back in 2010, and after the success of that the BBC commissioned a three-episode series. It doesn't follow the story of any of the books, it just uses the character of Dirk. Stephen Mangan actually fits the role quite well. I had my doubts about him before the pilot.

Cheers for the title change, Sat

Thought that was pretty good, too.

"Someone assaulted me!"
"That was me, you idiot."

Do you need to have watched the 2010 thing?

No. There's a single reference to the pilot in passing, but the new episodes are basically standalone episodes.

I'll have to watch it on the iPlayer. Problem I have is that I just spot bits of plots taken from the different books. Enjoyed the 2010 one though, was better than I was expecting.

Watched it last night and enjoyed it. Made me laugh quite a bit. Thought the previous episode was better though.

Anyone remember to watch it this week? :shifty:

Seemed a lot more straightforward than the previous episodes knew the woman would be both the daughter and the AI the instant she showed up and spoke funny.

Still, good episode  Helen Baxendale has a fantastic nose.

I couldn't remind everyone a few minutes before it started as I was out, sorry!

Think this was probably my least favourite of the episodes, but it was still very good. It started well and ended well, but the middle was pretty flat. "Your cleaner was an assassin who's nickname was "The Cleaner"?

Darren Boyd  Hope it comes back for another series, it's easily one of the best things the BBC have done in years

Just as I started to get into it I found out that was the last episode of the series. It had better make a return.

Thought it was a good episode. Enjoyed all three of them and am pissed off that that's it for the series. I want more.

Last episode of Being Human was alright. Mark Gatiss was a highlight. What didn't make sense was that everyone knew who he was in the future because he had killed the Prime Minister on live TV. Except, he's a vampire so he wouldn't have shown up on camera. They've always spent ages on this sort of thing, even in this series. Guess it doesn't really matter though, it wasn't that relevant to the story.

Now that I've typed it, it sounds really sad.

Seems there'll be another series. I'll probably watch it even though it might be that none of the original cast are in it anymore.

Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle has been commissioned for another two series. The show is set be broadcast on BBC Two in 2014/15.

Since the first series aired in 2009, the programme has built up a fiercely loyal audience, and Stewart will once again be taking the opportunity to ruffle a few feathers. Produced by Richard Webb and directed by Tim Kirkby, Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle is a mixture of stand-up and sketches, performed by Stewart and special guest.

BBC Comedy is thrilled with the commission, with the Head of In-house Comedy, Mark Freeland commenting: "How brilliant that BBC Two has given Stewart Lee two more series. It's reward for a unique, perfectionist, hardworking, bit scary comedy master and the wonderful team behind him. I'm standing by with my compliance forms".

Stewart Lee is also excited at the prospect of two more series: "It will be amazing to be able to move forward and experiment in this unprecedentedly secure position. Thanks to everyone out there who watched the series, wrote about them, or lobbied for their return. I will make you proud. Peace! I'm outta here! You shoulda killed me last year!".
