What was up with that 11GB patch not long ago too? Did it actually add anything to the game? Or was it just a massive list of fixes? I can't say I really noticed much that needed fixing when I played through, but maybe it was to do with branches that I didn't go down. Y'know, due to getting people killed and all.

Hope they've patched (or do patch) the over-sensitivity of the Don't Move sections though.

I can elaborate a little more now I'm back on the PC if you want. It's definitely more akin to something like Scream than the much more uncomfortable horrors of PT and stuff. The vast majority of the horrors are jump scares and grim death scenes.

Everything becomes a lot less intense when you realise that most of the cast can't actually die until the latter few chapters anyway (semi-gameplay/plot spoilers)

Girlfriend watched me play this start to finish over the weekend, fantastic game. She actually chipped in and saved me from some silly mistakes early on.

Ashley was first to go, I knew there was no chance it'd be her under the trap door and we'd already read that the Wendigo's were able to mimic people but went against my better judgement. Seems like most of us made this mistake.

Jessica got her face ripped off because I opted to run other than hide, split second mistake.

Everyone else survived. The final scene was tense as gooseberry fool, my dog was sat on my lap at the time of the DON'T MOVE bits and he got up right after , good use of the Sixaxis.

I dodged a bullet with regards to Ashley -
I followed what I thought was Jessica's voice, but I then changed my my mind and rejoined the group again at what I'm assuming was the last minute. Whew!

Went back to this for Halloween, scraping up the last few trophies and what-have-you. Only just realised that (Chapter 7 (I think) spoiler)...:

The stranger doesn't seem to actually know any more than you about the wendigos

>"FIRST THEY INCAPACITATE YOU. THEN THEN RIP THE FLESH FROM YOUR BONES AND EAT YOUR ORGANS ONE BY ONE WHILE YOU'RE CONSCIOUS FOR THE WHOLE THING"
> Almost every wendigo death is a beheading

Wow, what a game. What an experience. Loved it.

Somehow I managed to keep all 8 alive all the way through without the use of any guides. Will definitely replay to get different scenarios and mop up remaining trophies

I told you you'd like it!

I've just finished up the "No-one survived Until Dawn" playthrough :dread: Feel bad for killing everyone off. Chris's death is grim if he and Ash are all lovey-dovey :dread: Bit odd that the wendigo would taunt them like that

Still got another bunch of trophies left though, so I'm thinking hopefully one more playthrough to polish them all off. Missed the last black totem again :fp:

I've also only just noticed that the right stick controls the faces on the menu.

EDIT: Noticed they recycle a few of the lines in the various threads, too. (Mike's last words if he kills himself to take out the Wendigo is the same soundbite as when he shoots the one that crops up in the sanitorium with Wolfy. "How's that feel, you strawberry float" sounds odd when he's lighting himself on fire.)

 Finished this tonight, that was special, great fun and scared me throughout. I had six alive till the very last choice, kept Sam, the blonde with pigtails and Chris alive, seemed a bit of a cop out there! But whatever.

Looking good for my impulse-bought PS4 steel-book edition disk version, then. :) Finally, a sensible game investment in 'old media'!

How was it for getting the collectibles? I thought I'd searched practically everywhere possible yet I still missed a fair bit of stuff on my first blind play through.

I found around 80% of them 1st playthrough without a guide then used a guide off Google (psn trophies I think edit: this link for trophies and this one for collectibles for the rest. Some of them rely upon you doing (or not doing) something earlier. It's possible to get all collectibles on 1st playthrough if you go for the "save everyone" approach but I think that'd be tough to do without a guide

Personally after I finished the game on the 1st run through I used Episode select and started at ep10 to collect what I was missing, then did ep9 then ep8 then ep5-7 as a continuous run then ep4 then ep2-3. Note you don't need to complete whole episodes for the collectibles but you must complete the episode in order for decision trophies to pop

Started this yesterday after picking it up on Amazon for £18.49. Its been a great experience so far (just finished chapter 7) but its creepy as hell and has made me jump a fair few times. Its potentially my GOTY for 2015

Bit of a slow starter this hey. I'm at the bit where Jessica falls into the mine and they move the mine cart...I'm hoping things start to pick up soon.

'Looky looky, whose gonna fire up some nookie'

Well, that was £18.49 well spent. :)
