It's also about just how important that base was.
If it was the main base for ISIS with all the main command and control stuff it could set them back massively.

These can't be carried by stealth aircraft they can only be dropped from transports.
Also that plane was flying ridiculously low level and super slowly so I'm not sure how scientifically accurate that demonstration was.
