Golf: US Masters. Rahm dons the green jacket in style.

Some fantastic golf from Rory over the week, so glad he won it.

A Northern Ireland golfer owns the US Open for the second year running 8-)

fixed! 'cos if you win we let you count yourself as British, whereas at the Masters he was definately Irish at the end! ;)

but well played that lad, phenomenal stuff, especially after the Masters.

As much as I enjoyed watching this last night, I have to say that hearing grown men shout "get in the hole" detracted somewhat from the experience.

Well played young lad. Not as happy as I would have been for a Westwood win, but good to see a youngster do well.

It was good to see Shane-O-Mac on the tellybox again.

U21s I assume you mean the football team. The English football team. Rory McIlroy is from Northern Ireland. Not England.

You're comparing apples and oranges.

Anyways, I don't really care about Golf. But well done to Rory.

Great news for European golf and thoroughly deserved by McIlroy too. Great to see the Irish continue their great recent form in major tournaments.

Now, lets get the Open under way. :D

World rankings are now:

1. Westwood (Eng)
2. Donald (Eng)
3. McIlroy (Nir)

8-)

No love for Rose winning this today? First Englishman to do so in 43 years? Making sure Phil 'Always the bridesmaid' Mickelson settled for 2nd place for the 6th (!) time in the US Open, a tournament record?

Boy done good.

I just couldn't stay awake last night to keep watching. So chuffed, typically this is the one tournament I didn't put money on the English guys.

Brilliant to see someone who faded to obscurity come back and do what he has done.

Why doesn't the search function work on this strawberry floating forum.

Knew there'd be a Golf thread somewhere.

Anyone watching Rory in the Open? Seems to have overcome a minor blip and sitting at -15

I was wondering why we didn't have a thread! I can still see an exciting end, Rory will have to play some flawless golf to not drop a shot or two.

Paddy Power were offering 5/1 on Garcia in the 'betting without Rory' market all of an hour ago. Couldn't(still can't) find my bank card, he's now 11/10. :|

Me too. Although I'd be sad if it was at Rory's expense

I would be pretty painful if Rory has another meltdown and loses to Garcia, but Garcia winning his first major is something I'd very much like to see
