To be fair, America stopped being a great democracy long before Trump. It's been on a downward spiral since at least the Vietnam War, maybe even earlier.

Enjoyable press conference with Putin just now. Putin presented Trump with a World Cup ball (insert jokes about it being bugged here) which Trump palmed off/threw at Melania sitting in the front row.

Trump also gooseberry fool on the FBI again and wanted to know where the servers and Hilary's emails have gone. 'Would never have happened in Russia' he goes.

Putin then brought up George Soros, which Fox News will probably play on a loop for the next 9 hours.

To my ear Putin didn't exactly deny he had compromising tapes on Trump, though he did deny he personally knew Trump was in Russia at the time, and then posed the question 'Do you really think that Russia tried to collect compromising material on every big American businessman who visits?'

Trump claimed that if tapes did exist then they would have been released by now.

When asked by a reporter if Putin wanted Trump to win the election, "Yes I did. Because he talked about bringing the US-Russia relationship back to normal."

Trump: "My people [CIA & FBI] came to me...they said they think it's Russia. I have President Putin. He just said it's not Russia. I will say this, I don't see any reason why it would be."

Trump said he has "great confidence" in the US intelligence community, but on this he believes they are wrong, Putin's denial was "very powerful".

Trump suggested that Russia and America should work side-by-side on cybersecurity,

Why would they do that? Soros doesn’t do 99% of the things they accuse him of and he’s bloody useful to have around to point at.

I’ve only seen bits of it, but it’s really strawberry floating disgraceful.

Not as disgusting as sexual assault or locking children in cages, but maybe enough to convince a few more Americans that their President is a Putin puppet.

Russian National Charged in Conspiracy to Act as an Agent of the Russian Federation Within the United States

A criminal complaint was unsealed today in the District of Columbia charging a Russian national with conspiracy to act as an agent of the Russian Federation within the United States without prior notification to the Attorney General.

The announcement was made by Assistant Attorney General for National Security John C. Demers, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jessie K. Liu, and Nancy McNamara, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office.

Mariia Butina, 29, a Russian citizen residing in Washington D.C., was arrested on July 15, 2018, in Washington, D.C., and made her initial appearance this afternoon before Magistrate Judge Deborah A. Robinson in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. She was ordered held pending a hearing set for July 18, 2018.

According to the affidavit in support of the complaint, from as early as 2015 and continuing through at least February 2017, Butina worked at the direction of a high-level official in the Russian government who was previously a member of the legislature of the Russian Federation and later became a top official at the Russian Central Bank. This Russian official was sanctioned by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Office of Foreign Assets Control in April 2018.

The court filings detail the Russian official’s and Butina’s efforts for Butina to act as an agent of Russia inside the United States by developing relationships with U.S. persons and infiltrating organizations having influence in American politics, for the purpose of advancing the interests of the Russian Federation. The filings also describe certain actions taken by Butina to further this effort during multiple visits from Russia and, later, when she entered and resided in the United States on a student visa. The filings allege that she undertook her activities without officially disclosing the fact that she was acting as an agent of Russian government, as required by law.

NRA Illegally Used Shell Company to Coordinate With GOP, FEC Complaint Says

The National Rifle Association (NRA) violated federal law by using a common vendor to illegally coordinate with four Republican Senate candidates, according to a complaint filed by a non-partisan public interest watchdog.

On Monday, the Campaign Legal Center (CLC) submitted a 25-page complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) alleging that that the NRA used a consulting firm to evade federal rules prohibiting coordination between congressional candidates and outside spending groups.

The complaint alleges that GOP consulting firm OnMessage created a shell corporation called Starboard–located at the same address and with essentially the same business model–in order to share and use strategic information between the NRA and the Senate candidacies of Tom Cotton, Cory Gardner,Thom Tillis and Ron Johnson during the 2014 and 2016 election cycles.

Just now, President Putin denied having anything to do with the election interference in 2016. Every U.S. intelligence agency has concluded that Russia did. What- who- my first question to you, sir, is, who do you believe? My second question is, would you now, with the whole world watching, tell President Putin - would you denounce what happened in 2016 and would you warn him to never do it again?

Trump:

So let me just say that we have two thoughts. You have groups that are wondering why the FBI never took the server. Why haven't they taken the server? Why was the FBI told to leave the office of the Democratic National Committee, I've been wondering that, I've been asking that for months and months and I've been tweeting it out and calling it out on social media. Where is the server? I wanna know where is the server and what is the server saying? With that being said, all I can do is ask the question. My people came to me, Dan Coats [U.S. Intelligence Chief] came to me, and some others, they think it's Russia. I have President Putin, he says it's not Russia. I will say this, I don't see any reason why it would be but I really do wanna see the server, but I have, uh, I have confidence in both parties - I really believe that this will probably go on for a while but I don't think it can go on without finding out what happened to the server? What happened to the servers of the Pakistani gentleman that worked on the DNC? Where are those servers? They're missing. Where are they? What happened to Hillary Clinton's emails? 33,000 emails, gone. Just gone. I think in Russia they wouldn't be gone so easily. I think it's a disgrace that we can't get Hillary Clinton's 33,000 emails. I have great confidence in my intelligence people but, uh, I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today and what he did is an incredible offer. He offered to have the people working on the case come and work with their investigators with respect to the 12 people. I think that's an incredible offer, okay? Thank you.

Holy gooseberry fool, he is literally a Russian lapdog at this point. "BUT HER EMAILS! THE CROOKED FBI!!", but hasn't the balls to criticize Putin even the slightest. What a bitch.
