Because she was with Eric at the time and Donald will not go anywhere near him.

No golden shower for Eric

So what happened in the interim here? Trump was relinquishing all responsibility for this and was actively blaming the democrats for this situation. Then he does an Executive order. So what changed? Did anything change? Or did the backlash grow to big for him?

At some point he realised this makes him look bad, nothing to do with the misery and chaos he's caused, just him looking bad. I'd imagine someone will get fired over this by the end of the week - my money is on Kirstjen Nielsen.

I know it's probably wrong to say (and would get me banned on Era) but I would genuinely punch the air and clap my hands (maybe even do a whoop like an American) if Donald Trump died. It'd be such a great feeling. This era of US and global politics needs to be consigned to the history books asap.

With the way a lot of Americans feel about the UN, that would only result in the United States of Trumpia going to war against the rest of the world.

Which is why they should wait until a Democrat is in office, because Democrats actually respect the UN.

You think the Fuhrer will allow another free election?

:simper: I'm going to say that, as authoritarian as Trump is, neither he nor the GOP are going to be able to Palpatine their way through this.

I do think that America will meet a Roman end, but I don't think that Trump will be its Julius Caesar.

No, Trump is Gracchus, Ivanka is Caesar.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if it were a Trump tbh, and she's the most savvy of the lot.

I thought about this yesterday. I would probably go out and celebrate.

The criticism was getting overwhelming and so he decided to issue an executive order that made it look like he was the caring guy that was stopping the injustice, even though he caused the injustice.

And his followers will lap it up as they are too far gone to realise just how much he lies to them.

I don’t really wish anybody dead, but I certainly would shed any tears for the orange buffoon.

I sort of hope he stays though, Mike Pence is quiet but is just as (if not more) scary.

Pence is legit terrifying, but he'd be a steadier, more predictable hand on the tiller, and wouldn't carry on Trump's practice of making gooseberry fool up on the fly.

Pence can't be worse surely?

Then again I remember a glorious time in the past when I thought nobody could ever be worse than Bush! :fp:

Yeah but his steady hand would be used to beckon gay people into gas chambers.

I don't normally either to be honest, but Trump is the exception.

He’s the only thing saving us from President Pence.

As much as it pains me to say this Trump may be the least terrible of the two as the damage Pence would do to the LGBT community (I don't think camps are a possibility) would last a generation and would embolden those with similar views to publicly act on those prejudices without fear of criminal action.
I don't think Trump cares one way or the other about the issue as it doesn't involve him personally.

I have a feeling Pence would also be terrible for atheism and science in the US as many Americans seem to have this odd terror about atheism taking over just because some atheist somewhere wants a bench or a sign promoting atheism. I remember fox news went mental when London Buses had slogans saying "There is no God" (there were signs after saying "There is a god") as if just seeing a bloody sign would make Christians think "hang on that bus has a point, screw religion I'm becoming a militant atheist and am going to stand outside the nearest church and gently cajole people as they leave. That'll show-em!".
You've got to be really, really odd to take theological advice from a bloody bus :fp: .

I am surprised Trump hasn't actually declared war on Christmas as Fox news love banging on about how Christmas is being destroyed (seriously, the guy needs to work in a shop over Christmas and then tell me Christmas is being destroyed) by someone having the audacity to say Happy Holidays. He gets all his other political ideas from Fox so why not just go full on and let them declare War on Christmas live on Fox and Friends and just mass arrest people who aren't Christmasy enough.

I’m not sure he is.

It’s like having a time machine and going back to kill Hitler, only to find out that a more competent arsehole took over and won the war.
