Performance, I think.

I can't say if it's true, but rumors are going around that it was a cop who groped her. Then she was arrested for illegally touching a patron. :fp:

All you have to do is be nice to Donald Trump and throw platitudes his way on a semi-routine basis. I think Boris Johnson has probably figured that out, and is the most recent example of it.

Boris, very critical of Russia, occasionally very critical of Trump in the past, does a public 180 on Fox News, and now Trump claims 'Boris is a good friend of mine. I've always liked Boris.'

So did he say "we'll do our own thing" and "go it alone" if NATO allies don't increase defence spending or not?

This makes it incredibly difficult to report the facts, which seems to me the whole point. The BBC has had to change its online article on this 4 times in the last hour (and the BBC intentionally goes slower than most), with the original context of the piece 'Nato agrees spending increase' going to gooseberry fool. The latest version:

BBC News wrote:US President Donald Trump says Nato countries have agreed to increase their military spending.

Speaking after a two-day summit in Brussels, he said allies had committed to spending more than 2% of their annual output (GDP) on defence budgets.

The president has been highly critical of the alliance, complaining the US pays more than others.

After the meeting, he said he believed in Nato and it was "presently unnecessary" to consider quitting it.

In 2014, all Nato members agreed to increase their defence spending to 2% of their GDP by 2024.

Mr Trump wants this to happen sooner, and has previously urged Nato allies to commit at least 4% of GDP.

"We made a tremendous amount of progress today," he said. "It has been really amazing to see the level of spirit in that room."

He said Nato chief Jens Stoltenberg had given "total credit" to him for the increased spending, which he said he instigated during his first Nato meeting last year.

Mr Stoltenberg has yet to comment.

After the summit, President Emmanuel Macron denied any increases had been made to the existing goal, according to the Associated Press.

He referred to a joint communiqué that was published the day before. "It confirms the goal of 2% by 2024. That's all," he said.

He said France would commit to this figure and deadline, but he was unconvinced by proposals to increase it to 4%.

President Macron said the meetings had a different tone to the tweets and were more respectful, according to Reuters.

In a separate briefing, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said there was a clear commitment to Nato from all attendees.

The US leader has specifically singled out Germany for criticism over its defence spending.

Prior to Trump, if a US president says something had been agreed, you'd take that at face value.

It's easy to report the facts, just don't include any claims Trump makes

Trump must be a nightmare to work for as he seems to just say whatever comes into his head at that moment and then just denies he said it moments later.
The fact that he can rely on Fox News to back him however obvious this is is alarming.
I really, really hope he gets neutered in the midterms and then voted out in 2020 as the next guy can't be as bad.

This 2% Nato stuff was a deal Obama made a few years ago, Trump has achieved nothing.

He does that all the time.
He'll come out of a meeting with everything exactly as it was and just claim that whatever idea the meeting was about was his idea and claim he won somehow.
He'll most likely claim credit for stepping down peacefully at the end of his term and not starting a civil war as if that's a great achievement because his fans are so strawberry floating stupid they would've started one if he just asked them.

Hundreds of police officers assigned to help with Donald Trump's visit to the UK are having to sleep in conditions described as "an absolute disgrace".

Pictures posted on social media show rows of camp beds in a gymnasium which will be used for officers to rest on after 12 hour shifts.

The Police Federation said prisoners in cells would be sleeping in better conditions than its officers.

The situation was "not acceptable", the body coordinating the operation said.

Labour MP Louise Haigh raised the issue in the House of Commons, said 100 female officers had just four toilets between them and 300 male officers had just five toilets.

She added: "The time for warm words is over. The government must now provide the police with the support they desperately need."

West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson said the conditions some of his officers had found themselves in were an "absolute disgrace".

"No officer should be made to sleep on a camp bed, inches from the floor, in a sports hall with scores of colleagues only metres apart after a 12-hour shift", he said.

Around 300 officers have been brought in from forces across the country to help police Donald Trump's visit, costing up to £10m.
