I don't think he understands that freedom of speech also includes taking the piss out of the President.

The main problem is that US comedy aimed at him is pretty tame compared to how politicians get the piss ripped out of them here and I don't think he'd last long at all with the bombardment he'd get. He's unbelievably thin skinned and feels the need to react to any and all criticism which he'd get even if he was the best President ever which he really isn't.

In what looks like a huge error, Flynn's lawyer tried to make out that Flynn had been stitched up initially by the FBI. It's turned into a huge own goal. The judge is not best pleased at all. He's gone full bore about how serious the offence is. The judge even asked if he could have been charged with TREASON! They've gone into a quick recess to allow Flynn to confer before the sentence falls. Mueller asked for no prison time, but the judge is being very salty.

Having managed to annoy the judge and get dressed down in court, Flynn's lawyers are now asking to delay sentencing so he can complete his cooperation with prosecutors.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED :toot:

Echoes of Hypernormalisation:

In February 1984, the US withdrew all its troops from Lebanon because, in the words of then-US Secretary of State George P. Shultz, "we became paralysed by the complexity that we faced".

It's going to blow up in his face the next time a terrorist attack is carried out in the name of "ISIS".

Don't be silly, ISIS have been defeated, how can they carry out a terrorist attack?

Other than moving closer towards WW3 now that last grown up has left the room, yesterday was quite a busy one.

Matt Whitaker (acting AG) was given ethics advice that he should recuse from the Russia probe, so sought different advice and is not recusing!

And in a final act of utter cowardice, Paul Ryan did not put the CR (finance to keep government open) resolution from the Senate to the floor because Trump would veto. Instead the House passed a vote to spend $5B on the wall. So now the Senate has to return!

They'll never hit the billions required to build the stupid thing.

All they've done is exposed their own racist views.
