It seems like they bend over backwards for these people to look fair and balanced. The same thing happened with Alex Jones in his trial he was clearly not working in good faith but kept getting second chances.

Amusement under late capitalism is the prolongation of work.

I know, I was just discussing the key difference

I don't even think that's it's that this stage. This just looks like pure corruption. They haven't even tried to give a reason.

Truth Social has no such inherent value. Anyone buying stock off Trump is essentially going to be giving him free money because what they get in return will have zero value in the long run.

Unless enough of them offload the stock to take the profit, and crash the share price, leaving just Trump holding the devalued shares.

He still has to pay the $450m if he can't the bond for $175m or gets the bond then loses the appeal.

In better news the Stormy Daniels trial will start in 3 weeks on 15th April.

The speed with which it collapses is incredible. Mercifully it was 1:30am, so not much traffic. Imagine being one of the poor sods driving over that when it happened.

I think quite a number of people were on the bridge from the sounds of things though.

It's horrible but they've known this kind of thing was going to happen for years now.

When I drive over either of the Severn Bridges, I often think about how strawberry floated I'd be if even part of it collapsed.

I might drive via Gloucester from now on. :dread:

The speed is terrifying but I guess the bridge isn't designed to withstand an impact from the side like that.

Traffic and a 20 man construction crew apparently on the bridge. Sadly you think they'd struggle to save anyone who fell in (current thinking is 7 people went in). The water temperature won't help things either.

I wonder what happened with the ship-I assume they did not have proper control for whatever reason.

I'm surprised the bridge supports didn't have those concrete pillars around them, but I guess it is a pretty old one. All it takes is an engine malfunction for a ship to veer off course and hit it.

Assuming it was a malfunction and not a monumental fuck-up.

Video makes it look like the ship lost power a couple of times on the approach. And I don't know how much a concrete pillar will help when it comes to a hundred thousand tons of ship.

Well I'm guessing they're not just concrete, they're probably reinforced and interconnected somehow. I dunno. It's pretty amazing what they can do these days.

Truth Social has gone public and skyrocketed in price.

This is going to be a huge problem. Best case is Trump is operating a pump and dump scheme. Worst case and more likely, this is going to be a way for foreign entities to funnel cash to him while bypassing the correct channels.

It's not a Pump & Dump scheme, it's just an out of control memestock:

TMTG has never turned a profit. The company, which operates the social media platform Truth Social and plans to launch a streaming service in the next year lost $49mn in the first nine months of last year and took in $3.4mn in revenue.

The valuation is pricey for a company that has racked up tens of millions of dollars in losses since launching in 2021. Social media firm Reddit is valued at about $8 billion following its recent initial public offering. It had more than $800 million in sales last year. Trump Media's Truth Social platform generated $3.3 million in revenue during the first nine months of 2023.

Completely illogical that it should be valued at 5 billion.

Trump can't cash out until 6 months have passed so he needs it to hold at the current market valuation.

What happens if Trump just decides he wants to cash out though?

What will happen? The other investors sue him? Oh no.

He'll just do whatever he wants.
