Not at all. Their gun laws are mental but it's still a great place.

It’s ok for a week or two.

Like strawberry float would I want to live there though. :dread:

I know what you mean but in the right context it would be amazing.

Last time I went around the US, I went to Arizona and California and I have to say everyone I meant was really friendly and nice. Even in the gun club I went to. I could have totally seen myself living their.

Yeah I mean that part of it sucks but the day to day life if all's going well is pretty fantastic. I think it'd be pretty shitty to live in Alabama or some proper red neck place.

Fixed.

If your insurance has a high deductible, $2k-$5k is common, then once you hit around $250 in bills paid for by your insurance (that's for all doctor visits, medical bills etc for the year), you have to start paying out of your own pocket until you hit your deductible, after which point your insurance will pay a percentage of any costs above that - say, 85%. So you're pretty well strawberry floated either way.

If you were a multi-millionaire and a long long long way away from the South, then maybe.

But I’d still prefer Canada.

I dunno, I've liked some places in the South. Plus it's massive so I'm sure there are lots nice places.

California is the place though, the idea of snowboarding one weekend and being at the beach is massively appealing. I just really like the lifestyle, eating out, etc.

I wimped out of moving there because of the employment laws and healthcare.

Wait, so even after you pay your excess/deductible the Insurance still doesn't cover all of the costs? What the strawberry float? I always thought that once you paid like....1 or 2 grand for the excess then that was all you'd have to pay if you had insurance.

strawberry floating hell.

Just wait until the NHS goes private, so many people will be strawberry floated, and struggling with all the new insurance jargon foisted upon you by your cuntservative overlords. :dread:

Some insurance plans through employers are top banana though - I don't know exactly what "co-insurance" is, but if your employer's plan has it, you probably want it. Ours has it and it seems to have killed most of our medical costs. Am still scared shitless of seeking medical attention though. :dread:

America is a great country if you’re rich enough and live in the right area, with access to the right facilities. Their houses for example are incredible. Transfer a £350,000 London home to the US equivalent and you’d have the run of the place, and a home life you could never dream of having in England outside of a lottery win or in the dying embers of retirement. It’s the cost of everything else that will wipe you out. That or a tornado, your lovely wooden home imploding.

Vast swathes of the US are also incredibly impoverished, the country made up of many small towns nobody has ever heard of, where literally the only form of entertainment (and jobs) is a solitary Walmart and a 7 Eleven.

I have been through the poor areas of Florida and there are towns that are just literally falling apart and I've heard there is a lot worse out there. But the nice parts of America are really something to behold.

There are other massive problems, even in the nice place California and Arizona should not have that many people living in them. They are targets for massive forest fires and running out of water.

I honestly don't understand why anyone would live in a region named "Tornado alley". In a wooden house.

They're cheap and easy to build, presumably. I would need some sort of mostly underground house if I was going to live there, though.

Breitbart's heading up gooseberry fool creek:

The site dropped from 15 million unique visitors in October, per comScore, to 13.7 million in November, 9.9 million in December, 8.5 million in January and 7.8 million in February.

Its comScore figure for January was down 51 percent from the same month a year earlier, and the February number was down 49 percent from 2017. Last month was the site’s least trafficked since February 2015, four months before Donald Trump declared his candidacy for president.

There are several potential causes for Breitbart’s troubles, including changes to Facebook’s newsfeed algorithm, amped up investment in digital by Fox News, and the shifting status of Bannon. Once Trump’s campaign chairman, White House strategist, and closest ally, Bannon left the administration in August and returned to Breitbart, only to be forced out by the site’s board after he criticized Trump and his family in Michael Wolff’s book “Fire and Fury.” Without its driving force, Breitbart has struggled to find a clear identity. And after a significantly diminished presence at this year’s CPAC conference, there is a growing sense that its influence is on the wane.

“As a talk radio host, I haven’t used a Breitbart story in at least six months,” said conservative commentator Erick Erickson in an email. “They have a lot of readers and lot of people reading by habit, even if not as many. But they seem less able to stimulate a conversation or move an agenda now.”

Neither Breitbart editor-in-chief Alex Marlow nor a spokesperson responded to requests for comment.

Not a school shooting but another mass shooting in the US.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-43855097

Guy was arrested at The White House before this, allegedly he was there to thank Trump for allowing those with a mental illness to purchase a gun. AR15 again.

Good thing kids are so young, or they might not be so expendable.

You are supposed to protect life before it is born and then not give a gooseberry fool about it after. That’s the true Republican Jesus way.
