US President Donald Trump has said he would have run in to the Florida high school where 17 people were shot dead this month even if he was not armed.
"I really believe I'd run in there even if I didn't have a weapon," Mr Trump told a group of state governors gathered at the White House.
Mr Trump also said it was "disgusting" that officers reportedly did not confront the suspect on 14 February.
The massacre was the second-deadliest ever shooting at a US school.
"I think most of the people in this room would have done that, too," said Mr Trump on Monday of his assertion that he would have rushed into the school.
He added: "You never know until you're tested."

If the US public don't respond to this with the derision it deserves then all hope is lost.
A fat guy who has a public phobia of stairs is not going to go Rambo on anyone. This has all the plausibility of me challenging Karlprof to a coding competition and expecting to win.
Maybe Trump should show us all just how brave he is by doing one of those special forces training simulations at the Hereford SAS killhouse.
Lets see how brave he is when confronted with someone with a gun.

I'm pretty sure even Bruce Lee would think twice about tackling a guy with an AR15 with just his fists.
The more I think about the more stupid it gets. Unless Trump can somehow smokebomb his way to the target without the guy just firing into it and random out of pure curiosity he's going to be toast. Maybe I'm wrong but the whole point of a gun like that is so people don't get within hand to hand range.
