I am pretty sure Kiezer was a randomly generated name for an Everquest character. My old brother played it a lot and charged me 20p per 30mins to play.

Stopped playing quite quickly but the name stuck for other video games.

Karl changed it to kezzer at some point and it has now become my default.

I genuinely can't remember the first time I used my username for something - probably when registering for some chat room in the late 90's.

I was massively into Final Fantasy at the time and so wanted a name that was related to the franchise in some way, but not just reusing the name of one of the characters or places from one of the games. In the end I decided on the contraction of the names "Jenova" from FFVII and "Squall" from FFVIII, hence "Jen-uall".

Over time I then used it to register for various other accounts where any reasonable version of my actual name was already taken and it just stuck.

Mine is the first Transformers character who's name wasn't already being used when I first joined Games Radar, I've grown quite attached to the name over the years so have never changed it.

Edit: actually I sometimes (not for ages) use the name Unicronshead, which is also a Transformers reference.

I've been using this name since 2005 or 2006. It's just my first name with the word "Evil" before it. The only places I've used it in the last ten years are GamesRadar and TotalGames.NET. I might just stick with it forever at this point, though.

Mine is inspired by the greatest father ever, Sandy Cohen from The O.C. I wasn't worthy of the actual name so changed it up a bit so Cohen became coin like the penny. I believe it was my original xbox live gamer tag.

When I was 13 and hadn't discovered any bands who weren't called "Iron Maiden", this was my username based on their relatively-ok song Wrathchild.

I strawberry floating hate the song now and don't really go by this username anywhere that's unaffiliated to a Future magazine.

As an aside, I go by VoluntaryReboot on the Pokemon cards scene because I was vaguely remembering a line from the IT Crowd.

I created this username last year when trying to come up with a name for a YouTube channel where I'd talk nerd stuff (still only made 2 video's for it) and I realised something that linked a lot of my favourite series from Zelda to Star Wars was the idea of a chosen one. It's also an idea I'd use a lot in stories I made as a kid, and thus TheChosenOne was born.

I decided to use it when I joined GRcade in place of my old SONM name I grew tired of 'Nintendonator3000'. That was also just my YouTube name but for an old and very cringey channel. It was a Nintendo channel, and I watched Phineas and Ferb a lot at the time, so I just took a page from Doofenschmirtz's book.

Before that back on ONM I went by the bland name of 'Lego Master' simply because I nearly exclusively used to play the Lego videogames.

Most of the good names are always taken so I tend to just make up a nonsense word when creating an account.

Shortened version of Xenophobe which is a dROU Torturer class ship from Use of weapons by Iain Banks.

Diziet Sma: Xeny; you are a million-tonne starship; a Torturer class Rapid Offensive Unit. Even -
Xenophobe: But I'm demilitarised!
Diziet Sma: Even without your principal armament, I bet you could waste planets if you wanted to -
Xenophobe: Aw, come on; any silly GCU can do that!

Nice. I haven't read Use of Weapons but I like several other Culture novels a lot.

Outrun is one of my favourite Sega games so it's just a variation on that.
