I've recently cancelled my Sky as it was overpriced, however still have the box which acts just as a dumb reciever and let's me watch the free channels. (No recording etc)

I have a pretty powerful PC which I use as a media PC, and I was wondering is it possible to connect my Satelitte dish to my PC, and use this as a all in one media centre which will allow me to watch free view Channels (or other) + have the ability to record programmes to my Hard drive etc?

You can use a USB satellite receiver. And use something like SageTV to turn your PC into a DVR.
